There are some movies about Judo but they are not known very well.. For example, Akira Kurosawa´s Judo Saga. Other examples are the cartoon Kurenai Sanshiro and the manga/anime Yawara! A fashionable judo girl. I have practiced many martial arts in my life and I can say that Judo is the best.
@petergeranor I remember seeing an excellent Judo movie sometime in the early 70's. I just cant remember the name. I have been looking for this movie for the last 30+ years. I just cannot find it. The theme is based on a young judoka following in his father's footsteps. If I remember correctly the holding technique used was Yokoshio gatame to injure or kill other judokas. If you know of this movie please let me know!
Great video. There should be a Judo movie. There are many good movies about karate, boxing, muay thai and even Brazilian jujitsu (Redbelt), but none of Judo...

This is not a video from Tokyo University, but from Kyoto University.
"京大" (Kyodai) stands for "京都大学" (Kyoto daigaku) which means Kyoto University.

@Sheik06 Look up Sugata Sanshiro. That's probably the best Judo movie you're going to find out there.
