  • I love this song I remember singing it a lot in the car with my grandmother and mom! It brings back memories...

  • wait the new version has a different instrumental than yip's old version?

  • @MrBigEnchilada there's a couple of remix versions going around. Andy Lau's version for example is noticeably different. The Mandarin and Cantonese version Yip should be the same though.

  • @lookatthesigns hmm i just felt like Yip's cantonese versions should be the same i was just making sure.

  • looks like new york, that period of prosperity, in the 1920s in the u.s.???

  • @MrBigEnchilada no buddy, it's Shanghai skyline

  • @lookatthesigns should have said "reminds me of"....

  • @lookatthesigns i really don't like Shanghai. Beijing and Hong Kong are the best places in China!

  • คำอ่านบางตัว ไม่ถูกต้องครับ

  • what this song called in viet??

  • I love so much the lovely song of Shanghai Bunddon’t come easy, so I would appreciate and thanks advance to your diffusion the original ofShanghai Bund instrumental.

  • Some songs will never grow old and this is one of them ♥

  • I LOVE THIS SONG!!!! <3 like this if u do too

  • i'm actually going to visit my husband's family on friday ~ doesn't give me much time to learn it!! ;)

  • thank you so much for uploading this~ you have no idea how long i've been trying to find a pinyin version of this song! it's my mother-in-law's favourite song and i've always wanted to be able to sing along with her when she sings karaoke so i can surprise her.

  • Great Song

  • people are so stupid... i think it makes sense that you put the shanghai skyline for the background of the video. the song is called SHANGHAI bund, and it's the theme song to the tv show SHANGHAI bund that took place in SHANGHAI. yes i know it was a cantonese show, therefore the song is in cantonese and the singer is cantonese. so it evens out and makes perfect sense.

  • Thanks, missed the video drama that goes with this song! Great job on the Canto pin yin! Keep it up!

  • This sure brings back memories. Thanks so much for posting. Have always loved this song!

  • Beautiful song!

  • I been a fan of you!

  • I can see that so much efforts put to this song. Excellent and clear hanyu pinyin. Thank You very much!!

  • The song is very nostalgic, and the video is well made. Thank you for making this!!

  • Whenever Frances is performing near me, I always pay to see her just to hear her sing this one song!

  • Thanks for the pinyin. It helps people like me who can only speak and understand simple Cantonese. I am from sg and people of my age usually dont speak this language well.

  • Thanks for sharing. I love this song.

  • Everyone, my website is up, please check it out for MP3 download.

chinese-melody (add .com at the end).

  • @lookatthesigns Thank you very much for the pinyin. I have always wanted to sing along to this great song and now, thanks to you, I can! :-)

  • because this song is call shanghai bund... zzz

  • I love this song ! Reminds me not only my trip to Shanghai years ago but, of course, the '80 HK drama "The Bund" with the Chow Yun-fat. What a wonderful actor. And Francis Yip is a great singer.

Thank you for this video. Pudong viewed from The Bund at night : beautiful.

  • Thanks so much for the lyrics. Really appreciate it. Now I can sing along and then memorize it. God bless.

  • Wow Shanghai! :-)

  • Love it ....

  • Thanks for the upload! Great song, Great animation; even though it's not really compatible with the song...

Also, that's not Pinyin it's Yale. Hanyu Pinyin is designed for Mandarin, Cantonese Yale for Cantonese.

  • This is fantastic, Francis Yip's voice was the original singer for the show. The Shanghai Bund background is appropriate for this song. Shanghai is now a very modern city and the song fittingly suit the lovely city. Thanks for uploading this song.

The last phrase does not seem to be accurate compared with the words in Mandarin. Otherwise if I follow the pinyin, it is okay.

  • @ivanong8 it makes sense because the Shanghai of the 2010s actually has much more in common with Shanghai of the 1930s than Shanghai of the Mao and Deng eras.

  • I've heard this song from many artists but Frances Yip was the best & the song fits her voice perfectly...........thanks for uploading!!

  • A real classic tv serial with a young Chow Yun Fat in the role...

  • thanks for pinyin, me who sing along nonetheless :P

  • Love the pinyin, me who sing along nonetheless :P

  • loving the skyline!

  • nice song

  • good job

    thx for the pinyin

  • The 80's is back!

  • with pinyin, very good. I can sing along with

  • Thank you for this lovely song which comes with pinyin. I could now learn this song and sing along with Francis Yip. She is performing this Christmas at Gentings. Regards, Jonathan Lee

  • this is awesome but how come u puted a shanhai background rather than hon g kong? weird...

  • The skyline is actually Shanghai's and not Hong Kong. Modern Shanghai is beautiful! :D

  • @lookatthesigns

I think for some people who're not familiar with Shanghai, they only recognize Puxi (with its graceful old buildings) and not Pudong, with its skyscrapers.

  • @pkly64 uhh it's the complete opposite... people unfamiliar with Shanghai usually would only recognize Pudong skyline (and usually Pudong skyline that's a few years old and already outdated) and not realize that Shanghai is so much more than that.

  • @lookatthesigns

rofl? whats wrong with that guy ... the song is called "SHANGHAI bund?"

  • @lookatthesigns Damn you! Hong Kong is always beautiful than your SH.

  • @saijujiwara how is that weird this song is about Shanghai

  • @saijujiwara Because this is the opening theme song of the classic Hong Kong serial drama about PreWar Shanghai syndicated crime world.

  • @saijujiwara Because this is the opening theme song of the classic Hong Kong serial drama about PreWar Shanghai syndicated crime world.

  • @saijujiwara Maybe because the song is "Shanghai Bund," Shanghai Grand, The Bund....I LOVE that series with Chow Yun Fat!!!!!!!

  • @saijujiwara

because it's a cantonese tv series about two brothers (not biological) and the way they achieved money and status in the dog eat dog world of SHANGHAI, so of course the picture is of shanghai and not hong kong..... it makes perfect sense to me.

  • thank you very much for uploading this! It brings back such wonderful memories!

  • Is it Hong Kong !

  • It's actually Shanghai's skyline.

  • Thanks friend , ^^

I am glad that you reply me. Really glad to be you friend,

  • @mybelovedmariawong Bund of shanghai

  • best song ever.
