If you didn't keep sliding so much you could have takne many of the fast sweepers completely flat without braking so hard to avoid a spin.

You work the steering far too much and you use engine-braking too much, in real life your tyres would have been done by the end of the lap. Not that it'd be a problem because you would have blown your engine half-way through...

@Foxx1981 He's not running GPL in PRO mode.Most race on 'intermediate' so damage and wear aren't so frustrating.PRO setting is far more unforgiving,and would address your grievances.GPL is the best open wheel sim avaliable.Have you gave it a run? ..these videos don't do it justice.

'shakey cam' , people seem to be fooled by this. I am *filming* the screen with my digital camera, 'shaking' it a bit based on steering/G force but all quite poorly and random. It is not some software / mod / addon

Nice throttle control too rough on your steering if you smooth it out youll be faster also i noticed you have too much fuel on board try putting just enough for a couple of laps. smooth is fast. what level are u on? you are using a steering wheel which one? It takes about the same amount of concentration to drive a real race car but you have to be extremely fit to sustain the g forces and of course a set of steel balls. sometimes even with all that drivers do not reach grand prix level.

Can I ask how you set up the 'shakeycam' view in GPL? Is there a mod somewhere that needs to be downloaded and implemented? The game's standard cockpit view doesnt behave in this manner, but it looks a lot more realistic this way.

I love you.This game was tough for me,for most....assuming your not one of the 'freaks',these mutants that were put here by god to play racing sims.This game made me question my skill as a driver..heck,i allmost retired from virtual racing and threw my PC wheel collection away.This game seperates the men from the boys ! ..Hope ya didn't give up !

Anyway, it's a reply to vansoth's remark that he'd have no probs transfering to real racing. Which you simply cannot base on someone's performance on a sim and read o so many times on youtube.

And yes I do race for real (though bikes), I love GP legends and was never able to get even close to that time, which is why I watched the film in the first place.

Still, suggestion about subtlety noted ;-)

Well, it takes quite some time, but once you know the track well here's a recipe for a sub 8:20 (and thus negative rank):

Brake early, hit your apexes, use half-throttle over the dangerous spots (jumps, dips, you know them) - do a clean lap and I guarantee you it'd be good enough.

NiiiiiiCce!! I'm guessing that this was the look of the course back in the hey-day of DaT awesome machine, eh?! The absense of high-visibility (i.e. striped) apex curbing makes this course seem even MORE treacherous (of course, I haven't driven it yet myself, but my blood boils just from watching..^_^.)
