So...gender roles are innate/natural/God-given, etc, but if people aren't properly indoctrinated on the proper way for their gender to behave and they don't face the right legal obstacles to living an honest life, then confusion abounds because...? In other words, if gender roles are really natural and innate, easily determined by gender, why do we need religion or the law to force us into restrictive boxes?
@1WatchmanMinistry You obviously don't run with a very interesting or diverse group of people if you truly believe that (or read books or watch movies of any real merit). But as you've pulled out the God card, this discussion can go no further because no matter what I say, it will be derailed with "God did it" instead of any real life evidence. On behalf of feminists everywhere, fuck you.
@1WatchmanMinistry Perhaps the hostility (if it is there) is due to the fact that gender stereotypes hurt people. If you want to live in a delusional world where all women are one way and all men another and never the twain shall meet, that's up to you. But it is delusional, and don't be surprised when not everyone buys into your fantasy or appreciates your "insights"...
@1WatchmanMinistry Because MOST people are far too complex to shove into an over-simplified m/f stereotype. Believing that gender determines personality is naive. Believing that people should follow that stereotype even if it makes them miserable is hatred.
@happytree1233 "Because MOST people are far too complex to shove into an over-simplified m/f stereotype. Believing that gender determines personality is naive. Believing that people should follow that stereotype even if it makes them miserable is hatred." Why do you believe that?
@1WatchmanMinistry Expecting people to abide by very restrictive gender roles is naive at best and outright hatred at worst. Do you honestly think that everyone will be happy living according to the exact same repressive formula?
@1WatchmanMinistry Principles like equality, right? So why does that only apply to official slavery? I didn't watch all of the video as I found it kind of mind-boggling that someone could hate not only women but all of humanity that much, but all the Bible quotes you cited that I saw were from the Old Testament. If you're interpreting the Old Testament literally, don't pick and choose what you want to follow.
The Bible is perfectly clear about slavery, too. It allows it. Where's your movement to repeal the 13th amendment? While you're at it, you also want to ban shellfish, blended fabrics, shaving, and pork. You should also lobby to pass a law forbidding menstruating women from leaving their tents. The Bible is clear about all those things being evil. Hypocrisy's a bitch, isn't it?
@happytree1233 The Bible tolerated slavery but made it impractical and taught principles that led to the abolition of slavery when applied. Many Old Testament laws served to illustrate spiritual realities and were fullfilled in Christ. What hypocrisy?
Yeah that might work if the whole of mankind were perfect. But let me tell you it is oppresive and sexist to think that a man must take the lead in the family. We don't live in "Leave it to Beaver Land". Yes women must protect their equality. The lack of equalily ALWAYS leads to oppression. Women must fight for their rights and the rights of their children. We are not reduced to some black and white text in an ancient book. Your video is absolutly disgraceful!!!!!!!
@1WatchmanMinistry Excellent point. Don't you love Youtube. We can all speak our minds freely without any fear of getting into trouble. I love your comments. It is a good thing that we express our different viewpoints. We don't have somekind of ideology filter on youtube.
i prefer the term "Menimism"

@happytree1233 Why do you have so much hostility over someone expressing an opinion different from yours?

@1WatchmanMinistry Why do you believe people are so simple that you can insist on everyone living according to a very specific gender role?

@happytree1233 Because that is the way God designed humans.
