  • Gotta love the sound of persimmon and wound balata. A woosh-Kerack.

The modern metals perform great, but the sound of a lot of them make me want to puke.

  • Seve was very long limbed and loose. He could really whip it through, but he didn't always find the same release point or stay balanced. OTOH, that looseness really helped him with all kinds of recovery and being creative. Can't have everything and 5 majors ain't to shabby. An original.

    RIP Seve.

  • With video, Seve will never be dead. He will always be entertaining the public. This video is one of the great choke holes of all time. His approach 5 iron went short and left into the middle of the pond. He hit it so fat, his divot actually beat his ball into the water. It was really funny. Seve truly was a great entertainer. RIP you great big spanish clown :)

  • I have been watching swings videos for the last hour or so... swings from the big fishes. And all I can say is that when I saw this one, a laugh came out naturally from my inside :) That is definitely my style.

  • Seves doing so much betterr!

I saw him the other day and hes doing soo much better!

Hes hitting the drive 150 meterss!

Said he might win british open xD

  • Haha! keep a look out for him this year!

  • See that guy in the White trousers... He stands in view of the camera on the 15th every single damn year! He still does it now!!! Wierdo!

  • Oh my God, he used to absolutely THUMP it! Not many people remember that, they mainly remember his short game. That tournament was a big turning point in his career because it was after this that he began changing his swing. He could have lived with the odd wild one. If he had realised that he would have probably won another couple of majors. Faldo had a huge influence on golf around then, though, and the game was getting very mechanical. Even Seve was sucked in by this trend. Pity...

  • As I recall, it was Seve's next shot after this one that ended his pursuit of the green jacket that year.

  • That is correct - put the second shot into the water. Phenominal drive, though - right at about 300 yards. He was hitting 300 yard drives well before it became commonplace.

Get well Seve - all my thoughts are with you.

  • Yes -- and with that tiny persimmon-headed driver, too. He would have been a star player in any era, including the current one.
