if you actually know how sensors work > it doesn't sense nothingness... it senses light, and if the light is too bright, it makes all the colors darker, and vise versa... i don't see this "glitch"

This is a constant issue I have had with the iPad 2 camera. Apple gave me a replacement and now my replacement is having the same color issues. Not sure what if its carrier specific. Running latest OS, on 32G Verizon iPad 2.

I am able to force the problem. It occurs when you changed focus and lighting from a dark subject to a light subject and the reverse. I don't know if is with all iPad 2 units but I'm going to the apple store tomorrow to figure it out

The ipad 2 is having so SO much problems already. Come on Apple, you can do way better than this. You are supposed to be fixing all the problems that the first ipad had not making new ones.

@ecartman12 So many problems? I can only think of two: screen bleeding, camera issue. Both of which are very small. The camera issue will be fixed in an upcoming software update, and the screen bleeding issue tends to disappear after a couple of weeks.

@gumballtech The other thing is a flashing sort of dead pixel that some people are getting. And the screen bleeding does not disappear after a couple of weeks. At least thats what I have experienced.

It seems to just be the bright bits in the video, maybe a problem with the white balance or exposure settings in the firmware :)

@NovaRoadshow None of which can be changed, unless using some ghetto third-party application. Like right now. I have the camera on pointing at a window curtain. I see various odd colored blobs everywhere.

@gumballtech Definitely sounds like a exposure/white balance/contrast problem, It should be a simple fix for apple but because the camera is the main selling point for the iPad 2, you would have thought that they would have tested for things like this.

@NovaRoadshow Indeed. Although, I don't recall this happening to any of the other cameras in any previous iDevice. Hopefully it is a software solution, but I might have to hold out on it if it's fixed in iOS 4.3.1, because I need to be jailbroken.

Is it really exposure/white balance/contrast? It happens for just a split second without much of the lighting even changing.

@gumballtech I've never seen an iDevice do this before either but (correct me if im wrong) the ipad camera uses a contrast based auto focus system that may not be configured correctly or it could just be that the default white balance or exposure setting are a bit off.

But the best thing to do is take it down to the apple store and let them have a look at it because, it may also be a faulty camera...
