Stan lived in northern Strandvej in Elsinore a few years back in the sixties! My friend Charlotte Dyrup, came into the house to jam session on the beach! It was a fantastic time with some of the best jazz musicians ... then! for example. when Stan played like Gerry Mulligan and Gerry played like Stan! ... fantastic !!!!!!!

Charlie Haden wrote this for his wife, Ruth. It's a beautiful piece. Stan really dug deep on it and the emotion in his playing goes right through the heart.

I've been learning this piece - my wife is called Ruth - it is technically difficult but is a beautiful composition; no-one beats Stan Getz's rendition; wonderfl stuff.

My favorite all time cut of Stan Getz. this was recorded only two or three months before his death. The first few minutes of this are used in the movie Gattaca during a dinner scene. He and Kenny Barron paint a picture, and convey so much emotion.
