  • With green energy and an enlightened attitude, humanity can really live an easy and comfortable life. Courage and intelligence will let us evolve into something greater. You would enjoy the story of WITH THESE EYES.

  • 1:25 "BUT" FIRE I'll TAKE YOU TO BURN!!

  • for those music enthusiasts there is a great doc (2 hours or so) on freddie mercury.

  • at around 07:45 a great truth is said

  • 5:25 - Accepting the Grammy for "Close To You." Karen was so damn cute! I remember watching this live when I was 13. I was in love. I still am. It pains me to think of what could have been.

  • Naiiyak na naman ako :'(

  • Can i add that after 1992-3 music went down hill.

  • God bless her.

  • Angelic vocals...

  • Richard was incredible

  • i love that there is beauty and inspiration in pure, simple voices like karen's and powerful, energetic voices like whitney's. i can certainly appreciate both styles. no reason to bash one or the other.

  • BWAHAHAHAHA!!! XD!!!

Spike Jones tinged "Close to You" FTW!!! :D

  • @juniper30

That was pretty boss...but a humble Burt Bacharach being so gracious gives it a run for it's money FTW.

  • The 70's wasnt brilliant, was ok.

  • @Mattyuk1 the 70's had more music and talent than any other decade are you for real?

  • @MOSKII58 I would have to disagree. I think the 80's were better because of the fashion and music went well together. In the 80's you had a richer sounds. Fair enough towards the end of the decade you had some shit, but so did the 70's.

Anyway i like the 70's, but the 80's were so much different.

  • @Mattyuk1 fashion and the music, fashion and music, fashion and the music went well together so the 80's were better than the 70's musically because of the fashion, hmmm better than elton john, Ccr, heart, foreigner, reo speedwagon, J-5, neil diamond, styx, black sabbath, bee gees, all the disco music, cat stevens, joni michell, santana, jefferson airplane, badfinger, jim croce, james taylor, fleetwood mac, derek & dominoes, allman brothers, blue oyster cult, should i go on? yeah you are right..def lol

  • @MOSKII58 I could list u all of the 80's bands including some of those u listed who went on to have biggest hits in the 80's. The 70's were ok i admitted that...lol, but the 80's was also good for various types of music from Soul, Classic rock, Pop, Electro, Ska, Funk, Dance, ect.

The 70's were about glam rock and slade which isn't anything to write home about.

  • @Mattyuk1 You must be joking. The 80s produced some of the most garish American fashion statements of the 20th century. I grew up during the 80s so I speak from experience. Overproduced studio albums featuring drum machines, soulless synthesizers and generic voice treatments ruined many otherwise decent songs. Mullets and neon colors may have been high points for trailer park residents but for designers and musicians they were artistic cul-de-sacs. Most of the good stuff came from Europe

  • @ritter89 The jam, the cure, the police, the smiths are just a few bands that were not electro. As for the synths...they were much warmer and fatter than what the 70's tried to produce. The 70's was gay glam rock man, nothing special.

You'll say the 70's probs because you grew up in them. I grew up in the 60's but prefer 80's :/

  • @Mattyuk1 Yes but all those bands you mentioned are from Europe, which is what I said in my previous post. I was talking about the 80s as a low point for American fashion and music. Also, I grew up during the 80s, not the 70s--also mentioned in previous post. I like lots of groups from the 80s but most of them are from Europe, not the states. The Smiths are one of my favorites

  • Amazin family, great entertainers. Sacrificed too much for their fans, I would have preferred Karen alive and a little less quality. Workaholic and perfectionist, your loved ones want you alive.

  • no disrespect to all the richard fans but iv always though he was goofy and geeky and awkward lol

  • Beautiful music by the Carpenter. RIP Karen

  • At 4:32 it sounds like something you'd hear on the Muppet show. LOL!

  • Is that Caroline Quentin doing the narration?

  • I would agree with her bf - her voice was unreal, one of the best ever for sure in my lifetime. Such a tragic loss, such a sad ending.

  • I agree; I love Karen Carpenter's voice!

  • Karen was the greatest female vocalist of all time. I miss her so much. A star on earth, a star in Heaven.

  • I agree; I love her music!

  • close to you thats my favorite song.

  • that is a good one ,I love the way her and her brother sound together

  • She sings like an angel. What a loss to the world.

  • miss you ky KC!

  • " Chilling perfection with much warmth."

    PGAD

  • thanks for this documentary, no else like karen

the purity and perfection was karen trademark.

  • She certaily was.

  • Paul Gambacini - this guy knows of which he speaks, great guy, esp re the "vocal acrobatics" dead right, I hate that

  • There will never be another group as dynamic as the Carpenters, especially Karen whose voice is one in a million, simply fantastic.

  • There may be more unique and brilliant female voices, but they aren't getting their chance to share it with the world since they don't sound like Whitney Houston.

  • Purity and perfection. There will never be another Karen. Thanks so much for this documentary.
