The other two were forgotten and left behind to die in the explosion...MEANWHILE samus is beig all happy person-ness. Thus concludes the game. (Yes i made a mini story thing off of your comment...feel appreciated.)
maybe so...yeah that makes sense because they were just standing there not in a running/walking position...sooo yeah it all works out i guess.maybe...
The idea of a speedrun is to complete the game in the shortest time possible. If he doesn't kill that boss he saves time and can still grab all the items and
I know that, and I also know they're some of the best games ever. I also know that general restrictions on programming and game time made in-game text exposition a bad idea and/or a waste of cartridge space. That doesn't mean I wouldn't have like more text.
That's pretty neat, I might try that next time I do one of these. Thanks for the insight, I pretty much just resigned myself to getting FPS-sniped there :P
Too bad this TAS will probably be obsoleted soon, now that moozoh has found a way to skip Bomb Torizo in NTSC. But, that's what makes this game so great, it's still being broken to this day.
Watch the actual SMV with the input display on if you get a chance. There are some hidden messages in there, it's very original. Search for "JXQ Super Metroid" and click the first video to see what I'm talking about.
Man, I think I've just opened a whole new world of stuff I never knew were possible in ZSNES by watching that video. BTW I downloaded it, and this dude still does it awesomely.
Omg the death of mother brain 5:20 is so funny :D

Not checking for secrets, speedrunners just go a bit insane when forced to wait for game events :D

still one of the best final bosses ever
solarkirby 3 years ago
Why does the game say "Clear time 00:37", when the run is obviously over an hour long?
In any case, JXQ is definitely one of the best TASers out there, and this is some of his finest work. Thanks for uploading! :)
qwertyuiop726 3 years ago
The in-game timer doesn't run during door transitions and item acquisition, which account for a good 40% of the total real-time.
Thanks for watching! ;)
1whoistornapart 3 years ago
Okay, that makes sense. Those little 5-second pauses really add up after a while, don't they?

so. . . so far I got 0 plot. . . did he just skip it, or do I need to play the game on my own?
Quincy0047 3 years ago
There's more to a game's plot than just text.
Zachski 3 years ago 3
True, but a little more text would've be nice.
Genereaver 3 years ago
This is a SNES game.
For anything that wasn't an RPG, the plot was limited to the instruction booklet. See: Mario.
Metroid is included in this.

Why'd he burn off all but 27 of his missiles?
TheSuperSmashBrother 4 years ago
To shorten the time of Mother Brain's final attack. That's also why he knocks himself down to around 3 Energy Tanks.
