I can't believe that there is no more WILLIE'S PLACE. Makes me want to throw my XM radio out the window...Willie's Roadhouse is not Texas Traditional country music....Makes me angry....
1976-77 - Officer Basic in San Antonio. This Philly guy was introduced to Ray Price, Johnny Bush and Darrel McCall....and his music world changed..........
@rustyBIGKITTY442 The steel player on 95% of Darrell's music is Buddy Emmons and on the fiddle is usually Buddy Spicer. He's also been known to use Ron Knuth.
I can't imagine anybody who listens to country music not liking this song. It's great!! Tuned my XM in to WILLIE's PLACE & jerked the tuner knob off the radio & threw it out the window. Thanx again flashbell!!!!!!!!!
Yep now that is music, a song tells a stroy and the words can be understoon. Not like the stuff they put out these days grab 4 or 5 words repeat them over and over with background noise so loud you cand appreciate the song. Thanks so much for a great post.
Love Darrell McCall, and songs like this is why, thanks for posting this..if you have info on how to contact Darrell, please leave me a message her on youtube..my husband wants to record a song Darrell co/wrote and I need info on how to license the song...thanks .. LaDanna Cox
A fantastic, touching, moving, heartfelt and very rare song. No-one could put the emotion and feeling in this song like Darrell McCall and Willie Nelson do.
Top that all you "bubble gum singing want-to-be's" from Nashville!! This is Country Music in case they don't know. Nashville hasn't made music like this since E.T. died. Damn Shame..
The voices, harmony, and instumentation all work together to produce one of the most beautiful COUNTRY songs I've ever heard. Wish country was country like it used to be. Thanks for keeping it alive.

I think you are right about that, Jerry. He also used to sing backup for Ray Price and what harmony those two had.
