I don't think I have posted thanks just yet but hey thanks a lot for this video. It is impossibel to view the original at gym cause it takes a long time. Another reason I like this workout is because it is EASIEST one out of all I've done in P90X so far. :)
I think he does 25 or 15 for each. I do 15 on my light days and 25 on intense days. Did I mention im 16 and sadly my moms wont buy me the dvds so im forced to look up on youtube for em?
Hi, I just started the program and i was just wondering if 1. well im getting kinda tired of watching the dvds again and again, its not really necessary to watch them right? aslong as you follow the workout xD 2nd . what supplements did you use if any? and 3rd. do i have to follow the nutrition guide ( its just that the menu is horrible )?
Thank you for posting this. I started the program last week with a bootlegged version that did not have this disk. I tried using the guide, but was unsure of some of the exercises. Great choice of music. Clutch is such an underrated band. The first album is a masterpiece of fast, groovy, funky, rock-and-roll. It's like Frank Zappa with more balls and on speed.
I get sooo tired with shoulder & arms day, I take too many breaks and I finish the workout(without abs) in 1 hour 20 minutes(the worst part is that I dont do the warm up and still take me a lot)...what about you cowbucs?
@cowbucs Question, on the upright rows, when I push the two dumbells together when doing the upward movement, does it make it easier? It feels a lot lighter when I do that.
@cowbucs Isn't this the hardest of all workouts on the DVD?I mean, i sure feel like it is, Chest Back, and Biceps Back are my favorites, i'm actually looking forward to those, but this one i always kept hating, i'm doing P90X for 6 months now, not all of them, only those 3 the other days of the week i go running for an hour a day, so i'm doing 3 days of P90X and 3 days of running, and one day i do just nothing, and this one stays just HARD.
@nirson123 That might actually be your problem, You NEED to do the warm-ups for 2 reasons 1 you can hurt yourself seriously bad and 2 i can honestly lift more/ do more reps If i do the warmups.
How am I supposed to do these workouts when I'm still sore from day one. My triceps are so sore it makes it nearly impossible for me to do these workouts. How do you do it or do you just push through the pain?
@Alucardatr There is a huge secret about how to get through the pain of Day 1 or even your first couple of weeks. Not too many people know of this secret but I will tell you anyways. STOP BEING A BITCH. Enough said, have fun at the gym :)
@legendkiller217 he is probablly right but every other vid i see they do 30 reps. but they only did 3 of these excersizes so it was 90 reps in all. they repeated the cycle 2wice. but if your doing all of these workouts then he is 99% right
I almost lost all my fat it almost looks like lol.
I didn't think i had that much fat. I was soo much bigger and it seemed like i was kinda buff under all the fat but i guess it all went away with my fat.
The past 3 weeks. I had the miminum amount. 1300 according to p90x insanity workout. So i burn 1500 rest + 900 daily work out and stuff.
i guess i am losing 1100 calories a day lmao.
I need to build muscle. Should i just start eating more now?
this really works...i havent been able to do this for about a month because of school and stuff but the work is stil showing...im getting back into it for the summer and i cant wait to get back in shape..it really works
Is it okay if I do 25 repetitions for some of the exercises like the alternating shoulder presses and the tricep kickbacks or should I get heavier weights???
@Esturi9 8-10 reps for size 12-15 for definition....if your doing 25 reps then its really just endurance training your muscles so i would up the weight some...its just according to what your goals are
Yeah. I do a shit load of deadlifts now days. Of course the importance of maintaining proper back posture during workouts is very familiar to me. Great advice.
Hey if you could post a video with the proper form or at least link up someone else it would be greatly appreciated. Form is a big deal to me and really it should be to everyone. It's a lot easier to see it than to visualize it in your head. Thanks in advance!
if you stick to p90x, it's once a week for the 90 days, with a week of rest every 3 weeks. However, i usually do every other day, and once a week up the intensity. just remember it's quality over quantity with weight lifting.
I'm A First Time Watcher And I Love The Vid, Can't Wait To Try It :)
I'm Already Quite Strong And Looking To Add On Some Bulk, So Could You Tell Me How Many Reps To Do, What Recover Time To Use And How Many Times A Week This Should Be Done. Thanks I Appreciate It :)
Tony Horton says in the video. 8 to 10 reps with a burn on the last 3 for size, 12 to 15 for lean. You just write it down and adjust until you get the right weight for each exercise.
Damn, P90X is some hard core stuff. When you commit to doing P90X are you able to eat anything you want or does Tony Horton require that you stick to a healthy diet during the 90 days workout?
you get to eat LOTS, but it has to be GOOD nutrition. The first phase is basically almost no starchy carbs at all, high protein etc...but then as you go through, carbs get addded back. It's a pretty good nutrional guide actually. I never felt really tired from the lack of carbs, and if i did, I added a little back in. It's not totally set in stone, but it's a good guide
you have to stik to the healthy diet to get the best results you will get in pretty good shape even if you dont unless you are very large, but if you stick to the diet you will see an amazing change plus eating healthy will change your mood and how you perform doing anything throughout the day.
as much as you can in what amount of time? does it vary with each lift? my friend just got p90x and we're not starting until mid august but i wanted to try some of the workouts before we move up to school.
i have a quick question do you do all of these in one workout or do you do more? and do you workout everyday or do you take a day off, or do you workout for a few weeks straight and then take a week off or something like that im currently doing DC training and i wanted to see how the P90X would do for me
the work out is divided into 6 days working each part of your body, with days in between for cardio such as plyo, yoga, and kempo. Each other day is a differnt part of the body and its a full body workout each week. Its divided into 3 phases: adaptive, explosive, and recovery for 90 days. its pretty tough but best workout ive done so far. I barely sweat weight trainng but this just kicks your ass. You always end feeling good about yourself. totally worth your time!
try two chairs a little wider than shoulder width apart and prop your feet on a desk and dip between the chairs. You could ad a dumbell to your lap to add more weight.

this kind of workout is junk, no one needs to use weights, how about using your own body weight, look at gymnasts, they have the ultimate body and guess what, they only do HIT training, HIT stands for high intense training, google it, quit waisting your time and screwing up your body with weights.

I'm about to start my first round of P90X after seeing everyone on Youtube! Thanks for the motivation. Does anyone use Betagen or creatine while on the program?
by the way bro, im a basketball player and now in great shape at 7 percent body fat, when im done with the p90x doing 90days... do i do it over again? Cuz i dont feel like going back in the weight room i find p90x more intense and convienet but will i pleateu if i redo it?
speaking for someone who has done P90X 3 times you will not plateau.you will probably do even better. the only thing is you should talk to your coach about whether you should be doing p90x or a basketball specific workout if you do p90x again you be fine
Thanks for the comments. I did two rounds of classic. I am on my third round an have added in Plus. During me second round I did mix and match some of the cardio workouts from classic and plus just to change things up a bit.
mate this is a quality workout and you seem to do a lot in one session. how many reps for each exercise should i do? i.e 3 x 10 reps? and for the side tri-rises, are you meant to lower your body all the way to the floor or keep the tension in the arms?
The exercises are done for two sets (I max on each set). You do the the first three exercises then repeat. This is done through out the workout. Your right...you should keep the tension in your arms rather than going all the way down for the side tri-rises. I was just worn out ;(
You are a true inspiration bro! I just got P90X Plus in the mail and I am so excited to start it up after this cycle is all done. However, I did breeze through all of the DVD's to check them out and I don't get the same feel for the cast, set, and direction of the Plus version.Did you have the same feeling? It is like a sequel to a good movie, where the sequel can't touch the origional. Meaning, Tony doesn't have the same enthusiasim as before.I hope my opinion will change, once I start sweating.
You summed it up exactly. It seems like everything is too well rehearsed in P90X Plus unlike the original when you got the feeling that a group of buddies got together for a workout. This doesn't take away from the intensity of the exercises, but makes it a bit annoying. P90X rules, but the Plus will kick your ass!!
Get some! I get pumped-up just watching you bro. I love the dips with the vest (that was a vest right?) I just incorporated that into my work-out. 20 lbs also. Makes a hell of a difference though doesn't it?
You can see some major definition during those side tri-rises. Good job!
Love the vids. I always pull motivation from them. I'll definitely keep pressing play. Have a good day pal :)
I wanted to buy a vest but they are very pricey. I just use a backpack with two 10 pound weights.
I'm still working on those behind the back clap plyo pushups. My wife was laughing at me because I damn near busted my head trying. Thanks for the motivation.
Hahaha. Yeah my wife laughs at the stuff I do too. I'm actually up to two claps now. Soon three. Anyhow, it's good that we can motivate each other. You gave me some good ideas I can do with the weights.
I think this workout is actually my favorite one in P90X. Well, right after Stretch, but you know what I mean:p

They are pricey. I bought mines second hand.
Hahaha. Yeah my wife laughs at the stuff I do too. I'm actually up to two claps now. Soon three. Anyhow, it's good that we can motivate each other. You gave me some good ideas I can do with the weights.
