it looks ok. i never played the old silent hill games so im not really a hardcore fan,but i played silent hill homecoming and SH4. even though i like homecoming , its crap from what i hear because of the comparison between the older games. the older games are better and i would agree becasuse im a hardcore resident evil fan, and they have ORC coming out which to me looks terrible and not RE at all. RE6 is not that good either but its an improvement from RE5. so i understand those opinions.

I am getting the game,But I have to say with a fan of all silent hills judging by the trailer it dosent look like a sielnt hill game.For example Silent hill 4 was originally was supposed to be a seperate konami project called room 302 but they changed it to SH4 and it looked like a silent hill game but Downpour really does look like a non Silent hill project

@Theseanzer well no one really has played this title so it's to early to judge, however Konami put the trailer like this to attract the newer generation audience to the game. That's another reason why they picked Korn to do the intro theme. But Vatra *the creators of this title* said they are going into the games roots to give that original feel in a modern set game. So I believe that the game will be like the first 4 based modernly. Can't wait for March 13th!

I've heard the HD collection is meant to be released on the 6th in the US but a week later for the EU and I've also heard other dates it's meant to be released.. @StrayxDog What, we don't even know the plot yet, how can you call it and its characters generic and paper thin? Every Silent Hill has pretty stupid plots if you don't play it before. Silent Hill 1 is about a father going after his daughter. 2 is about a husband going after his wife. Downpour is about a criminal trying to escape a nightmare about his past and sins. You can't judge the story before playing. So please keep your negativity for yourself until you get the chance to play Downpour.

@Trickster242 This is not an original opinion, but it's still true: The best and most original character in Silent Hill will always be Silent Hill - the town. The characters get to be kind of shit because they're just there to provide something for the town to fuck with. What will make this series truly great again will be if/when they manage to make the human characters' stories just as compelling while still preserving the atmosphere. I definitely hope Downpour can pull it off

The game actually encourages you to run from certain encounters. Enemies can block and dodge your attacks. They're also stronger and faster than you.
