I thought it was the other way, that advertisers targeted morons first because they're easy prey, and later the advertisers started looking for the demographic with the most morons because demographics are easy to advertise to, and that turned out to be younger people. so everyone stopped caring about older people, which made people scared to turn old, ironically keeping them stupid for a longer time than usual, which is why marketers target 18 to 49 year olds, because that's how long it lasts.
