hey, what about 'Let's Jam Gel Extra Hold' for twisting? I used to use that Lock and Twist, but i find it doesnt give much hold, and it flakes when it dries. i love your hair tho, i want mine to get like yours sometime. i've recently started checking out you tube and found a host of videos like yours with styling and wrapping tips and i'm excited! I love my locks!

I really like your lock size....i'm going into my 2nd set & trying to transition from two strand twist extensions....the 1st chick messed me up & made the extns too big so now i've got to have them redone....i HATE the beginning stages..

Will you do some more lock style tutorials? How did you start yours?

how long was your hair when you first started? how long does it actually take for the hair to loc? how often in the beginning were you able to wash your hair? in the beginning did they seem to unravel if they got wet and get kinda puffy lookin'? mine look puffy and not like a straight smooth loc. what can i do? please help. this journey is so frustrating, i dont think my hair will ever actually loc. i'm about to cut them off and just forget about it. HELP. PLEASE.

hi:) i started my locs in a shop in Queens, NY called Nu-Tribe. Ive maintained them myself for the last 4+ yrs with the exception of maybe 5 visits. no i havent did a video of me actually twisting my locs. think i got too many to sit thru a whole video lol

hi Tay :) i usually do my whole head 2x a month, but sometimes i'll just retwist the front and wear it back in a ponytail in between the full head retwists. the stuff i used this time kinda reminds u of hair grease kinda thick but i prob use it once a month and use my loc and twist stuff by Organic Root Stimulator is kinda creamy and doesnt leave a build up

you have beautiful locs, same lenght as mine, you by any chance ever retightening your hair with a tool? i had tried it for the first time and i love it!!! sometimes i get tired of gels so i retighten with a tool it is alot of work but if i get the hang of it it will take a little time>

thanks :) sometimes i'll latch the back since it seems to sweat out and come loose more than the front. maybe one day i'll do the whole head, but i have over 150 locs so its gonna be awhile lol

You hair is very beautiful. How much hair did you have when you first started? do you have earlier pics? Has it been growing consistently, or was the first year or two really slow then you had a growth spurt later. Did you ever feel like giving up in the beginning? thanks a lot. when i started i prob had about 3 inches of twisted hair with these second set of locs, the first set were bout an inch twisted. u can check out my fotki page its the same name msbutterfli. the first year is hard, u are so used to having hair swinging and touching your shoulders so u are in shock lol i know i was. many times i wanted to stop but i just kept lookin at pics of different loc styles that kept me going. each day i love em more and more, but i did have periods where

Your locks are so beautiful. i like the size of them. you do a good job of retwisting them. How long does it take you? I'm only 6 months in with my sisterlocks. I can't wait till mine are 4 years. (Lol)

thanks, usually about 3 1/2 hrs if a good movie is on lol..sometimes i air dry sometimes i sit under my Lazy Dazey dryer. im sure you hair is gonna turn out beautiful :)

hi nneyah :) i started my locs at a salon with the comb coil twists. i probably twist my hair twice a month but sometimes I'll do quick touch-ups of the front of my hair so i can pull it in a ponytail if i have to lol.
