  • nice! was this a former markham transit bus?

  • A bus driver once told that TA Stands For Turbo Asperated.

  • TA = turbocharged/aftercooled.

  • Well This Detroit Diesel 6V92TA Engine must be supercharges and it sort of sounds like a cow in labour!

  • None of them were...I think...

The "T" in 6V92TA stands for Turbo

  • they should rebult them they great buses

  • The 1988 Orion I's #2033-2036 (also ex-Markham) would sound like this one.

  • These are great buses. These buses should be rebuilt and kept in service 7 more years. 160,000 dollars is cheap to rebuild a bus compared to spending 450,000 dollars for a low capacity not made as good 450,000 dollar low floor bus. These buses can run till 2021 with another rebuild in 2014.

  • Too bad the 6V92TA and D863.3 aren't popular for USA-destined Orion Is and Vs (in the USA, this powertrain was more common in Flxibles and Gilligs).

  • Canada always get the good transmission engine combos while we're stuck with typical shit.

  • The typical s*** being either L10/D863.3 or 6V92/HT748 or 6V92/V731.

  • To be quite honest, I am actually getting sick of hearing this combo. I hear it everytime I am not in Toronto. -_-

  • We'll you'll be fine, as this bus is nearing retirement at sweet 16 this year.

  • Actually this bus won't be going anytime soon. It had a rebuilt two and a half years ago.
