If this is a professional performance, I am amazed and shocked into silence.
Seeing as it is, in fact, an amateur performance, all I can say is: the Wicked producers are missing out if they're not scouting this girl. She has one of the clearest, strongest voices I've ever heard. I'd pay to see this performance on a professional stage. For sure.
Was this professional, amateur or semi-pro? Cause Elphaba's voice and the choir BLEW ME AWAY. That was totally amazing. You're ready for Broadway!! Very nice belt ! I wish I could belt ! XD
Whenever I get sick of hearing terrible amateur singers attempt this song, I ALWAYS come back to this one because it is just refreshing hearing someone sing this on key.
WOW!!! THis girl is absolutely AMAZING.....She's the only person I've seen sing this amateur-wise than can keep up with the best of the best on broadway. Hell...she's better than A LOT of the people actually chosen for this role! WORRKKKK BITCH!!
this is probably the first performance of Defying Gravity I've seen where you can actually hear what the ensemble is singing!!! AND OH DEAR GOD! that girl has such a gift!!! I want to hear more from her. she has such an awesome stage presence. AMAZING!!! 5 STARS!
Baylie Carson deserves to be on Broadway, hands down. She is on par with most of the vocal demands of this song, and when I watched it, chills were sent through my body. Amazing voice. In a video like this, the audience doesn't matter, it's the performer.
SHIT, The Last Note Was Great Until the after, AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA
The audience wrecked it. Such an amazing performance. You should applaud and show your approval but theres a line between showing support and obnoxious. The crpwd even surpassed obnoxious. Great performance though
Oh please..you should pull the stick out of your ass. The song was OVER, and they were cheering like crazy because a young girl just took on one of the most vocally demanding songs on Broadway, and killed it.
Doesnt mean fans have to be obnoxious! Yes she did a great job and she deserves a great applause, but you will never see an audience on Broadway screaming like wild animals!
@wwefan587 Because most people on Broadway won't know her personally! This was most likely a community show where most of the audience are friends and family of other cast members, who probably told them about the amazing Baylie Carson.
@imaligergrr ye this was the end product of a two week course we did. we were split into two groups. both doing the same songs. each group got to watch the other perform so we all cheered really loud for each other to show support. Thanks for standing up for us. some people just don't get it.
@wwefan587 ye u are kinda just being a toss bag. one this is hardly a performance. We did a music theatre camp for two weeks and we all did this after nearly every song. its called showing each other support and for the record we did appreciate it. made us feel good about ourselves. (the screaming wasn't that loud any way. the microphone on my camera can't handle loud noise when its close it just distorts)
Oh my God...I saw this live but 12 months later I have watched this and the way the crowd is absolutely silent and spellbound until after the last note when they completely lost it has given me goosebumps!!! Unbelievable Baylie!!
SHIT, The Last Note Was Great Until the after, AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA
Seeing this gives me so much hope for the future. This is probably the most inspirational thing i've ever seen.

I would pay to see her perform. I'm not even joking. She's as good as, if not BETTER, than some West End stars! I see a bright future ahead of her :)
Ps Glinda, the ensemble and the set design and lighting were all AMAZING too :)
