  • Derek Flint's lighter was better than a Swiss Army Knife.

  • Derek Flint had same creed about firearms as John Drake of Secret Agent tv series. Never carries them but he can use them.

  • Right people - Our Man Flint - a James Bond spoof. I loved it - was in my early teens when first viewed. Have it on video and DVD to this day - In Like Flint - the sequel - was even more farfetched - but what the heck!-fantasy!Music Score was by Gerry Goldsmith - shop around and you may still get on vinyl!Never re-released on DVD!To this day, I do Not know why! Enjoy and learn!

  • muy buena pelicula !!!un clasico!!!!!!!

  • I have looking for this film is amazing whit the star James Coburn, congratulations for this film.

  • I loved his cigarette lighter!

  • ♥ .

  • Did you know he was the first James Bood

  • Fantastic stuf!!!

  • I love this period of music and film. The part from 0:33 to 0:56 makes me feel really happy.

  • Thanks for your positive comment Imani.

  • @filmmusicstudio Belated reply to you (page 2) It's a pleasure - heru1966 is my other channel, btw.

@ Soundtrack collector...I think this is my fourth comment in ten minutes, so I'll calm down now. I blame you for having such excellent taste. :-)

  • I remember watchin parts of this movie. It was Gr8!

  • The movie features a secret U-boat base inside a cliff on an island. I just discovered the nazis actually did have such a U-boat base under the Villa Winter on the West side of Fuerteventura in the Canary islands. After the war it was sealed using explosives with two U-boats still inside. That is weirder than the weirdest movie script.

  • Jesus Murphy been coons age since I seen this.,

  • VIVA JERRY !

    his music will live forever...

Great powerful cue from the sixties!

And about the one with the submarine near the island ?

And IN LIKE FLINT the one for the fight in space ?

    So cool that Coburn !

    Bravo !

  • i remember this movie wen i was younger awsome movie if i could say, plus coburn was kinda of movie hero for me, always loved is war movies.

  • jerry lives on his music, we won't forget you mr. goldsmith.

  • love this...very 60s!

  • Who is the lovely babe at 0.34?.......wow!

  • @XXsardarXX Gila Golan. Beauty contest winner from Israel

  • Wow! I had this on vinyl. I don't recall the guitarist for these movies. The name "Billy" comes to mind. Kudos though. You must have spent days getting the finite timing of the scenes together. I had to show this one to my kids. They are learning to put video like this together .I hope that they are this good one day.

  • This soundtrack "lives" in my Camaro's CD player! I just freakin' "LOVE IT!"

  • classic music!

  • It was my favored movie, amazing soundtrack by Mr Jerry...thank you for posting

  • I've always loved this music, and the film too.

An excellent montage of edits from the film to accompany this.

    Well done.

  • Great job...old school spies with hot chicks and lots of killing...why not!

  • ...well hello! Absolutely can't wait to see your "version" of GOLD... As for which track to use for POTA, suprise us...! And to be honest, I'm not that familiar with that particular soundtrack. However, be sure to include that famous last scene where Heston leaves the Apes; riding a horse along with the girl, Nova. As he's riding along the beach, he finds the Statue of Liberty...buried in the sand! What an incredible scene!

  • I would love to see your rendition of the first Planet of the Apes and also your adaptation of GOLD starring Sir Roger Moore...

  • Which track to use from POTA - "The Hunt"?

GOLD already in the making with Jimmy Helms however, still looking for widescreen print.

  • Derek Flint - the coolest secret agent, action hero ever. If Hollywood ever re-makes it, they better do it properly - or else Flint will karate chop their hairy arses from here back to their secret volcano lair...

  • Anyone can understand that American film and television executives of the 1960's needed an American answer to James Bond; and fast. Honestly, IMAO, the Our Man Flint and the Matt Helm series were too "campy" even for the 1960's. And without a doubt,IMAO, the best American made espionage/spy drama characters were those created for the Mission Impossible television series.

  • However, great fun to watch.

  • ...by the way, your editing and audio work is excellent. Needless to say, the Our Man Flint and Matt Helm films were huge successes in the U.S., (campy or not)! :-)

  • Damn it, I cannot stop smiling whenever I listen to this particular soundtrack of Jerry Goldsmith!!! ::nodding:: Soundtrackcollector.. This is a very appreciated edited visual clip of a favourite film of mine !!!

The first 'Girl of my Dreams' is located at 0:33 ;O)

  • Thanks C for your kind comment.

  • very cool!

  • I love that guitar! Great job putting this together.

  • Glad you enjoyed this one.

    Thanks for your comment.

  • Our Man Flint is my favourite movie from the 1960's, i saw it when it opened and still love today!

  • Great Job. I like your style.

  • Nice work mate....well put together. Flint's a true guilty pleasure, so great fun to see some of the best bits in 2.15! Cheers.

  • Very slick. Nice work and fab sountrack and film.

Cramden: You traveled all the way to Moscow to watch a ballet?

    Derek Flint: No, to teach!

  • Glad you like it.

    Thanks for your comment.

Flint: I'm going to put Galaxy into orbit.

  • austin powers es un poroto

    besos¡

  • As unfunny as this movie is, I still like it. Goldsmith's music is great, and Coburn is one cool muthafucka!

  • Goldsmith overall I think was second only to Morricone, and this was his most awesome work IMO. The more I watch this, the more I appreciate exactly how you put it together. None of the trailers were anywhere near this good.

  • Thanks for your comment ... I suppose if you've seen the movie many times you associate with the best highlights and forget the spoilers.

  • Great combo, Coburn, Bob Peak, Jerry Goldsmith! yeah!

  • You seem like the guy to ask. Settle a bet for me.

The Greatest Soundtrack In All Movie History.

"Once Upon a Time In The West" or

    "You Only Live Twice"?

  • Both great films and great soundtracks.

If I really think about this, it would have to be Morricone, as each of the main characters has their own theme.

YOLT does have the wonderful theme song by Nancy Sinatra - striking opening bars, featuring a simple 2-bar theme in the high octaves of the violins and lush harmonies from French horns.

Also, 'Capsule in Space', 'Fight at Kobe Dock' and 'Mountains and Sunsets' are all outstanding tracks.

However, Once.. is so haunting, atmospheric & monumental!

  • Can't judge those two back-to-back. Apples and oranges. Two perfect scores in different genres.

  • Do you have any soundtracks from Japanese films?

  • Yes!

  • On my cell, on my desk top, etc. This one rules.

  • Derek Flint made the world safe for James Bond!

  • Well done! Well done!! I have several Flint mp3 tracks I listen to as part of a 60's "Secret Agent" mix and these Goldsmith tracks are just plain great music. I was about 10 years old when the Flint films came out and this brings it all back. Coburn was the essence of cool, albeit a more "tongue in cheek" Bond. Thanks for your work on this.

  • Glad you like it!

    Thanks for your comment.

  • Is it true the CD soundtrack doesn't feature the calypso version of this theme we hear at the beginning of the film?

  • The soundtrack I got from Amazon a while back has the whole begining and end theme .

It's a double CD and has "In Like Flint" as well. Now, I don't know how big a Flint fan you are, but the "In..." soundtrack doesn't have the calypsyo version of "Your Zowie Face", the instrumental that plays while he's getting the tour of "Faboulous Face"; also missing is the fight in space but it's basically a reprise of "You're a Foolish Man Mr. Flint". The blurb says it's the original soundtracks-it is.

  • you did a wonderful job mixing this!

  • Thank you for the comment and fav.

    I'm glad you like it!

  • Hi from Argentina! I heard that phone ring when I was ten and I couldn't forget it! The watch is terrific. The movie is the best! thanks a lot. Excuse me because of my english...

  • Absolutamente algunas personas, I' VE hablada con, recuerda el sonido del teléfono rojo del presidente.

    ¡Alegre usted gozó de él!

    Gracias por su comentario.

  • I remember watching this on WGN when I was a kid. Good Movie, Good work.

  • Thanks for your comment.

  • Is that the same WGN television station in Chicago, Illinois?

  • Yep.

  • Goldsmith's music on this film is FANTASTIC!

    God rest his multitalented soul!

  • Wait Soundtrackcollector? The Challengers version of "Our Man Flint" is the Sebastian Soundtrack? I'm Lost. Please explain! I thought Nelson Riddle Orchestrated " Your Zowie Face"?

  • this ones cool.coburns cool

  • Thanks for your comments!

  • first blood or total recall.

  • Yeah, Jerry Goldsmith: great. The surf instro version of this is great too: "Our Man Flint" by The Challengers. My fav Goldsmith is that Sebastian soundtrack, which I unfortunately don't have a copy of, although I know a man who does (Jonny Trunk).

  • Firstly, thanks for commenting and putting me onto this. Will try and look into Sebastian further...rarely seen movie, not yet on DVD? LP release only - not issued on CD?

'First Day at Work' - JG plus

'Comes The Night' - Anita Harris are recommended.

Apparently, Goldsmith didn't have a good experience doing the score.

  • I too have the SEBASTIAN soundtrack -- one of Goldsmith's coolest. Very electronic 60's.

  • Wow! - just managed to get my ears to the full soundtrack.

'The Trip' certainly has experimentation linked to 'Planet of the Apes'

However, 'Comes the Night' is a male vocal (not A. Harris).

Also, there's a vid from the film on the OddInspector channel -'First Day at Work' for anyone who's interested.

  • I got both of the Flint movies on DVD a few years ago.

  • Great pic quality!
