why do east indians call orientals "Asians", dont they realize they themselves are as well? (not a joke really and I dont care that India has not always been docked to Asia either)
@gameraccounts In American English, "Asian" generally refers almost exclusively to people of East Asian descent, mainly because our early contact with Asia was mostly through the east. In the states, the word "oriental" referring to a person is considered offensive. In British English they call Indians "Asian" and east Asians "Orientals", so it all has to do with the history of each country's relations with Asia.
that was weak.
