  • Where are the blood stones?

  • Totally freaked me out too. I just remembered the movie name like 10 years later!

  • This movie FREAKED ME OUT as a kid, but I loved it!

  • This scene scarred me as a child!

  • I watched this movie in my 7th grade english class!! The music is similar to "O Fortuna" and the scene is very much similiar to "Indiana Jones And The Temple of Doom". Didn't Spielberg help out with this film?

  • @5015dance He produced it. And yes, it's almost a carbon copy of the TEMPLE OF DOOM scene.

  • I think I heard this music used somewhere else. Or maybe it's just because it's so memorable? I don't know.

  • Smart Move Sherlock;D

  • the way i remembered it was much much scarrier

  • the mushroom food scene in the woods tripped me out but this part was the icing on the cake

  • This scene messed me up really good when I was a kid lol

  • Its amazing .. these chantings haunted me for so long.. and I could see and listen to them now.. its great.. thanks a lot .. booth81

  • I saw this movie when I was 6... I get scared a lot for this scene...

  • OOOOH SHIT!! I'm scared as fuck! Esp. by the screams of the girl!!

  • Temple of Doom, anyone?

  • @ArmedtotheTeethProd I thought the exact same thing

  • @amm019 After all, this film came out the year after!

  • Not pictured: the Rame Tep Symphony Orchestra.

  • Why the sacrifice is ALWAYS a girl ? Really..

  • @altea13 Damsel in distress?

  • What happen to you is exactly what happened to me as a kid. Scared the crap out of me then

  • Is that...hot wax!?

  • I remember this as a kid and has always stuck in my head thanks for showing me what movie it was from

  • Really, Holmes? Shout? While around a group of cultists?

    Smart.

  • @animeotaku307 He's just a kid, kids make mistakes

  • @amm019 It was a really dumb mistake.

  • Love this movie and especcially this scene

  • "stop, she is alive"

well, that was enough boilin water for her to NOT BE alive anymore...

  • Shiiitt, I remember this as a kid too! It still still disturbs me to this day! Scary chanting and scary looking people.

  • Aún tengo pesadillas con esta escena

  • i have watched this film so many times that i know it word for word lol.

  • Are they saying Ra amon hotep ?

  • @abby495 Rame Tep I think I just saw a video that had the lyrics sorry

  • genial

  • My favorite part is where they chant:

    "Hey Pantomime!"

    "Take out your blind hobbit!"

    -classic.

  • I remember this! Holy crap, I actually remember this!

  • Frightening!

Looks like Anubis judging someone before they are sent into the next life, actually, except that she's just being preserved.

    Rather disturbing given, though.

  • Excellent music!

  • what was that?? Wax or some metal like silver??

  • @LuigiSozzi paraffin, a kind of wax used to make candles.

  • Can anyone suggest a similar scene that is more graphic?

  • Amazing movie. I saw it together with my brother wehen i was 10 years old.

Now im 27 and i still remeber on this movie, guess because of this ramitep song.

    Sounds totally amazing.

  • It's unbelievable how many people remember this scene from chlidhood!!! I am extatic tio finally find this movie, totally by chance, after several years of trying to trace this. I saw this as a 6 year old child and I am totally stigmatized by it. :DDD and as I see -I am not the only one <3

  • woo, finally found this film! I too have memories of this film from childhood, mainly the fridge hallucination but also the mumifiying waxing ritual thing with the women, probably a disturbing scene for such a young age i duno, it cirtainly stuck in my head.. which is why im drawn to revisit it.. Since i was 6 or so - i didnt know what film it was till now,so i not guna watch this clip(spoiler) now.. I guna download and watch for a midnight movie.. =] hope its not too dated.

  • i agree with booth81 (about wat he wrote in the description box) i once had a dream like 3 years ago about this exact scene...then we watched the whole movie in english class 2 years ago and i nearly shat myself

  • We did a project type thing at my school about mysteries and we watched this movie. I loves it

  • Aaaugh this traumatized me as seven year old! I had constant nightmares about being mummified alive by being scalded to death. :(

  • song is: "Waxing Elizabeth" by Bruce Broughton

  • i wanna watch this movie now!!! Who are the actors and what year was it made in? Creepy.... :D

  • i made a young sherlock holmes film check it out

  • what is the name of the song in the background? and isnt this a take off from an old classic?

  • Great action film that could have spun out into a franchise. I was reminded of Harry Potter with regard to the fast pace and dark elements of the film good performances all the young cast.

  • @bobgrantsbus The guy who directed the first two Harry Potter movies (Chris Columbus) is the same guy who wrote this movie. He also wrote a draft of the Sorcerer's Stone script. That's probably why they seem similar. ;)

  • name this opera please...........

  • Can someone say . . . . TEMPLE OF DOOM?!? Come on Speilberg, lets have a bit more originality.

  • @kamikazeFIST Spielberg didnt make this moron

  • i love this movie so much!!! i saw it when i was five XD it`s great! <3

  • @MattTucksHoney me too ^^

  • @imbatman452 because they didnt believe him when he did.

  • @imbatman452 Because Lestrade of Scotland Yard was an idiot that is an ongoing theme in the film.

  • who the hell r they wat the hell r those idiots doing

    WTF

  • I saw some of this yesterday. I got this stuck in my head while watching it. When it stopped I wanted it to keep playing.

  • rame tep!

  • how funny, i remembered commenting on this a couple years ago, its still the first thing that pops up when you type in young sherlock holmes chant :D

  • this was one of the first movies about free masory-illuminati

  • Yeah, I had nightmares from this stuff as a kid.

  • I fell for this movie the year of its release and this is one of my favorites scenes mostly because of the chanting! Thanks for the upload!

  • The cant is indeed dark, gloomy, hypnotizing and haunting. I heard it once, a quarter of a century ago and still can't get it out of my head.

  • It seems to me the music is very much inspired by the Carmina Burana.

One of my favorite movie scenes ever. Is nt the temple supposed to be located somewhere in the middle of London? Whenever I'm in London and walk around all those big old buildings, I like to think that there are temples like this one inside.

  • STOP! SHES ALIVE!!!

  • Comment removed

  • dang this looks way better than the new Xtreme Sherlock Holmes. I guess I'll try to rent this instead

  • haha the music is so tribal and freaky

  • this one seems more super natural than the new ones that's coming out.

  • Exactly Temple of doom.Scene and music.Of course Temple was first.

  • this is one of the most traumatising scenes i've ever seen.

it still frightens me, i was going "ohmygodohmygodohmygod" throughout this whole thing.

  • ahhh this traumatized me in 6th grade, im still afraid to watch the whole thing :O

  • i remember this movie long time ago. i just wish they would still sell the movie and the soundtrack.

but they don't wanna sell it cause its to violent.

  • its on itunes. 4.99.

  • THis scared the shit out of me as a kid, Then they used the music on an old spice ad about 2 weeks after I saw it, and that scared the shit out of me again

  • looks a bit like a masonic ritual on steroids

  • It's been years since I saw that, and I can still recall most of the words and melody and... hah, I tend to think of it every here an' then. Thanks for sharing mate! "s worth it!

..now, if only I was to find that chant as a mp3!

  • I have the full original track with lyrics, which was never released on CD. Just search my videos.

  • @WithMountains

    Thanks man for the vid!!!!!Excellent......

  • reminds me so much of the temple of doom

  • The fear level I got from watching this film as a kid was amazing. Such a buzz

  • haha the Never Ending Story is what tripped me out of my mind. Ugh those green eyes!!!

  • same same

  • this scene traumatized me when I was a child. I went to watch this movie with my mother when I was 5 and it really scared me. I still remember it. Althought I like this movie.

  • gr8 film aint seen it in yrs lol thanks 4 upload m8

  • where can we watch the full movie of young sherlock holmes online?

  • what name this music?

  • This music makes the same effect as Carl Orff´s Carmina burana.

  • oh Spielberg, this seems rather temple of doom-ish to me here

  • you and me both

  • One of the best scenes of all time. Unforgettable.

  • Good

  • Funny I rather keep my kid away from Fascist idiots.

  • i was obsessed with this as a kid

  • Lol... My father take me to cinema to see Alien :p Im gratefull to him for that... and for see this movie on cinema too :D

  • i like the music and the end with maharati

  • I just watched this movie now, and it was great, remember watching this when I was young but too much distractions from my mum made me did't understand the plot. Now as this movie just played on film4, it was great. It was pretty dark and Im suprised this was for a kids films as the mummy scene with the hot boiling water was downright creepy. Nevertheless it was a great movie, and the chant is pretty catchy, I keep mumuring towards it. Thanks for the Upload.

  • me too! it still scares the shit out of me since i watched it as a kid...

  • I randomly hummed this a few days ago and had to drill in my head where I heard it from, then I remembered this movie. I need to re-watch this I remember loving this as a kid, but now that I'm older I wonder if it's still as good as I remembered.

  • this is a fantastic movie.

  • i loved this movie as a kid.. ive been trying to rent it but its become impossible to find..

  • i loved this movie this but, part is pretty scary

  • I loved this movie despite the tragic ending. There is another one with C. Lee as Mycroft that is pretty damn good too.

Unfortunately, I was upset with myself for getting the hots for Moriarty in this movie, Holmes's mortal enemy.

  • that was ...?

  • The whole soundtrack was composed by Bruce Broughton. The soundtrack is hard to come by but I have this song as an MP3 if you want a copy

  • yes, can i have a copy please

  • PM me your email address

  • where can i get the song thats playing ?

  • this music is very similar to some parts of Orff's Carmina Burana especially using pianos like drums

I saw this movie in late 80' when I was schoolboy. It was as terryifing as fascinating

  • I saw this on tv when I was 11 and I couldnt sleep afterwards!!! This scene was petrifying for a PG, and the bits with the blow darts are also terrifying, specially the silent one in the church

  • It's rated PG-13 on my dvd copy :/

  • it's indeed PG-13-i loved it.....it was my first PG-13 movie when i was 12. i know, pathetic, but yeah. i think today it would probably be PG.

  • I remember this movie. What is up with 80s kids movies involving creepy satanic cults? have you seen the movie Dragnet? Same kind of shit.

  • This movie "Young Sherlock Holmes and the pyramid of FEAR (1985) was great then as it is now I was fourteen when the film came out great special effects for it's time it shows where the so-called great film series "HARRY POTTER" got it's ideas at least this film was original unlike J.K. Rowling's books/Harry Potter. Buttman

  • You guys are right, you know, this is pretty scary stuff; i know it scared me as a kid. But if you think this is scary, you should see some of the commercials that were recorded on my homemade vhs tape copy. I'm talking weird stuff right out of the 80s like special news reports of somebody wanting to build a theme park based off of the novel 'Gone With The Wind.' Now that's freaky!

  • I just read on wikipedia that the knight formed from the stained glass window (which equally scared me!) was the first CGI character in a film. Cool...

  • I remember being totally creeped out by the chanting.

It kept going through my head, even when I was trying to sleep :(

  • Send in the Royal Marines!

  • True...a very dark scene...not for kids, ja ja ja ja.nice song,je je.

  • Wonder if he had started on the opium and coke at that age...........

Tis pretty dark considering its kids stuff

  • thats like temple of doom and mr. india

  • haha u mean indiana?

yeah it does remind me of it, too

  • Ooh my gosh I LOVED this movie as a kid! I still do, it's still one of my faves! And this was one of one of my fave scenes, thanks for posting!

  • Man I loved this song...I havn't heard it in yeras...not sure what drove me to look it up all of a sudden, but I'm glad I did. Though for some reason I thought it was more upbeat, heh anyone else ever do that, have a song you loved as a kid, that sounds so different now?

  • Yeah, I loved the song too. Its very similar to the "O Fortuna" movement in Carmina Burana by Carl Orff. Magnificent on a set of good speakers at high volume. I had the two confused for years. I would not be surprised if the movie music was inspired from the classic.

  • inspired? more like ripped off, considering the similarities.

  • Another example of one of the many times where the opening of Orff's CARMINA BURANA was used as a temp-track and the composer asked to write something that sounded like it. In this case Broughton came up with a quite memorable solution, although the Orff references are still awkwardly foreground.

But this is the way Hollywood works, so I don't blame Bruce. Generally speaking, this is one of the finest scores of the 80s and certainly in the top five of Broughton's career.

  • this used to freak me out when i was a kid.

  • i just watched the moive again and after all these years it still holds up well. the acting and story are both sweet and dark!

  • I saw this film a few years ago and TOTALLY fell in love with this song! Type "Young Sherlock Holmes - Waxing Elizabeth" into iTunes. And buy it ;)

  • dont forget chris colombus , he was the writer and also one of the producers , of one of the best movies of adventure ever made

  • It was produced by Steven Spielberg and Directed by Barry Levison, and the wonderful score is Bruce Broughton

  • 1- looks alot like someone re-dressed the set of indiana jones and the temple of doom 91984). Young sherlock holmes came out (1985)

    2. 'Young Sherlock' is the actor is also known as the weed grower in Lock, Stock, and Two Smoking Barrels...... In case it was bothering you too.

  • I'm almost positive it's the same set as Temple of Doom with only cosmetic changes. Both were filmed at Elstree Studios.

  • We got the chorus in my school to sing Rame Tep once (most of it, although it probably wasn't accurate).

You can actually see the victim move after being placed in the dais.

  • The tune in this is called "Waxing Elizabeth" - can't remember the name of the composer...

  • Please tell me that girl is dead

  • in the '80s some pretty bad things could happen to a kid in a "kid's film". Now the world has gone soft.

  • Sherlock Holems was Jewish?! Wow, you learn something new everyday.

  • Some sort of Temple.

  • i have to say holmes made a very good pick-pocket. Brilliant movie loved every minute of it.

  • LOL i remember watching this as a kid and i used to ask my mum to fast foward this bit because i had nightmares about it (Especially the waxing part !!!) lol

  • that damn song is still stuck in my head. I haven't seen this movie in almost 20+years. That ***Damn song!!!! Scared the holy hell out of me!!!

  • Music is by Bruce Broughton who wrote the soundtrack - and got an award for it

  • Carmina Burana is a scenic cantata composed by Carl Orff between 1935 and 1936. The best-known movement is "O Fortuna" that opens and closes the piece. This piece of music scared the crap out of me when I heard it - it is now sometimes used for sports events...haunting and devilish somehow...
