yeah that happened to me too. i rewound a play and then there was a penalty called on the same play that i rewound, and everybody lined up wrong and i lost like 20 yards. and i couldnt rewind that cus i just used it!!

just for a joke i got dre bly to run in front of the kicker on a field goal attempt for the other team before they snapped the ball back.when they snapped the ball back it hit bly and FUMBLE! came up on the screen.the kicker ran forward and kicked thin air because the ball was five yards but the ball still went forward and through the posts

I think I've seen a similar glitch in Madden 98. I kept a saved replay for a long time and it switched offense and defense players around and made it look like the opponent's WR intercepted a pass from my LB.

Better at what, substandard beta testing? The Madden series has been plagued with bugs since Madden 2001, and it's only gotten worse since the exclusive license agreement. They know they don't have to waste time beta testing these bugs out, because fanboys like you will always pay $60 for a substandard product, because it's the only NFL game in town.  Not me, and I'm not alone. Look around the net. We're updating rosters, updating schedules, and still playing NFL 2K5. It's a better game.
