These VVSC pickups bite HARD under decent distortion... I love it! The neck pickup on this one sounds sick.
I just swapped some Eastwood Hot-10 humbuckers into my Strat. I was planning on putting a VVSC in the bridge, but now I'm thinking I should put one in the neck too, and make it 3 single coil pickups again.
The Hot-10s sound great themselves, but there WILL be a VVSC in the bridge on this guitar soon.
@787Bisurdaddy ok so the hot 10s are ceramic? and if so which are better the ceramic or the VVSC? and if u kno wat are some key differences? lol hopefully u can help me
They're Alnico. The Hot-10s are humbuckers, while the VVSCs (which look exactly the same) are single-coil. The Hot-10s should sound a little heavier, but more mellow overall, while the VVSCs are clearer, but also a little harsher. The VVSCs are the choice if you're looking for a heavy, distorted Jack White-style sound, along with chambered body like the Airline 2P, which gives a nice resonance that adds to the bite.
@787Bisurdaddy ok well..on the eastwood site..says they are hotrail humbuckers not hot-10s...also they arent vvsc...they are vvDc vintage voiced DUAL coiled not SINGLE..not sure if i can trust ur analysis..thanks tho
I see. I was fairly sure that the Twin Tone had the regular Hot-10 humbuckers in it and the Dual Tone had VVSCs. Either Eastwood changed the pages, or I am mistaken, but the rest of the Airline-style guitars all had the same Hot-10s in them, and the more expensive custom versions have the VVSCs.
Maybe Eastwood made some new pickups for these guitars. You should probably ask them.
Well nothing can really be compared to PRS or gibson cuz those are high end guitars that cost like thousands of dollars and this guitar isnt. but u can compare it to the epiphones and PRS SE. the quality of this guitar is really good for its price cuz of its tone chambered mahogany body and the wide variety of style and tone
Because 1: this guitars price range is far more accessible than those big names comapnies- it's also a company that takes care of it's customers. 2: because these guitars are sturdy, sound great, and are different from what 95% of people are playing, and have really unique tone.
I was first under the impression that this is the exact same guitar as the Eastwood "Airline Twin Tone", aside from the headstock. But seems that this one ALSO has different sounding pickups than the Twin Tone. Am I right?
what effects did you use Ryan ?

@TheBlueMoth I mean, not new, but different

Yes, the SUPRO has upgraded pickups. These are the VALCO VVDC (Vintage Voiced Dual Coil) pickups. Alnico magnets.
myrareguitars 2 years ago
OK, thanks! Cool guitars, both of them!
ploukusa 2 years ago
@myrareguitars Are you sure they're Alnico pickups, because on some other YouTube vids they qualified as ceramic?
luit13 1 year ago
yes, the AIRLINE TWIN TONE model (almost identical guitar) has Ceramic pickups.
