  • Were Are ISO thingys?

    cant found them!

  • ISOs are (often bootable) image files that can be burnt to CD through programs such as PowerISO. You can also rip data from a CD to create a bootable ISO

  • thanks, i just created windows 95 and im playin dos games. Better than dosbox ^^

  • this is easy to understand...but if I have a linux os in iso form, how I boot it directly to vpc?do i need demon tool to mount the image?or we need to burn to hard cd?than how we install new apps to the vpc?let's say i try install IE 8 on vpc with xp?thanks...

  • very nice and easy to understand! thx. but it's virtual isn't it, like it's just visulisation, it's not really windows XP, but heck it's too complicated for me to understand.lol

Hey gys, I just want to know, what advantages can I get by having a Virtual PC?

  • Well you can test an operating systems' compatibility with your system without having to dual-boot or reformat your hard drive to accommodate two resident operating systems. If you don't like how the OS performs on your system, just simply delete the virtual hard disk as you would delete any document. That way the actual native operating system remains in tact!

  • thx for the info =)

  • thx for the info =)

  • U need a Disc in ur drive but it also sez

capture iso image...so i download powerISO

it created ISO image but it still comes up reboot and slect proper boot device etc.

  • you need to make sure the created ISO image is bootable. By default it should be if the disc you create the image from is bootable

  • It says this "Reboot and Select proper Boot device or Insert Boot Media in selected Boot device" i tryed using Physical Drive E:, but it will not let me click on it, any ideas?

  • looks very good!

  • yes Virtual PC also works on Vista

  • I have just downloaded it and made a windows 98 virtual machine, but when i ask it to start a get a dialog box and i don't know what to do, any ideas?

  • what does the dialog box say?

  • Ok i found out i need to use a ISO image, but how do i get it?

  • The only way you can obtain an ISO image of Windows 98 (if you're lucky) would be to download a torrent ISO but that is not only illegal, it also leaves your system vulnerable to malware attack. If you have a Windows 98 CD that you would like to convert to ISO, consider VaporCD. vaporcd(dot)sourceforge(dot)net. Since the developers at YouTube have disabled URL posting :-(

  • I will find another way, but thanks for replying

  • Well if i get a win xp disc though, will i need to get that VaporCD file to get the virtual machine to work?
