he is 100% right. I never learned anything of value from a gym teacher that can compare to a teacher of a different subject like science, history or English. The point is, the teacher unions of this country have far too much control and power in the education system. Being a teacher should be competitive like all jobs. If you're awful or lack of talent with it then you move on and let someone that CAN come in.

quite simple to me. somebody teaching push ups and pull ups, sit-ups and running aroud a gym for a kid 30-60 mins a week. doesn't deserve 1/5 of a good science, math or english teacher. so stop crying . this is the problem with teachers and their unions. why should someone contributing more earn the same as someone who isn't? school should be 3 hrs a day. 1 hour math, 1 hour english(forget spanish), and 1 hour science everyday. thats it. no lunch or gym or any kind or arts

@uchooze1 Dead on. It's why most home schoolers so easily dominate with "comparatively" so little work. I spent most of my days outside playing and having fun (like kids should) and I absolutely dominated my peers when I got to college. I couldn't believe that most of them could barely read and write, much less understand basic science. I was stunned.

Christie is right. The teachers unions are just failing the country's children. It's a shame.
