This was sooo awesome...the closest I'll probably ever get to watching Jon in person. And I loved that the audience was singing with him...I love watching him just get into the energy of all the stuff he performs...and then he just projects that energy outwards so everyone can feel it...
To me, that's the mark of a musician who will never lose their passion for what they do.
Check out the video that YouTube member vzqk50 made of this tune. The visuals are just as stunningly beautiful as the song.
I'm with you on Jon being so musically inspiring...between him and Vangelis, I've managed to keep alive my goal of being at least a semi-pro musician. If it weren't for those two, I think my goal would be dead in the water because of burnout--and too many people trying to tell me how I should make music, or what genre I should be in.
That's an interesting thing to know about the chorus...:-) I wondered where it came from, and I wonder where he came across it...All I know is, this has become one of my favorite songs of his, along with much of his other stuff I have in my collection.
It's awesome that you were able to be at that particular show, and that you got to meet him and talk with him about this particular song.
I really love this song. And funny thing, I've just dicovered the album "change we must" two months ago and I listen to this song almost everyday and, at the same time, I'm reading these days a beautiful book by Alan Watts, called "The way of Zen" which is a fascinating intro to buddish ideas. Thanks for posting this.

I was at this show and its my favorite Jon solo song. Jon told me that he thinks the chorus is in the Atlantean language.
