  • So... Your fish get stuck in the back portion of your nano cube? Interesting, I keep small gobies and other tiny animals in mine and I have yet to find any of them in the back area. Is this because you are choosing not to use the biocube filter pad?

  • @ChasethisReef This is a BioCube, not a nano cube it has a completely different back wall design. It is not because the crappy stock filter is not used. The rear wall does not come up high enough and fish and inverts can get in the rear chambers. The fish saver is a solution to that.

  • should the sponge filter be removed in chamber 3 when you are running the media basket or just leave it in place?

  • @defilade31 Remove it if you are using chemical media in the basket. If you are using chaeto in the basket then keep it in. Just remember to rinse every 2 weeks.

  • @inTankLLC thanks!

  • @DJDoubtIt81 I am very interested in trying out the media tray. You can do filter and carbon in one slot and bioballs in the others. I just find it to be a little over priced. But as soon as I find a good deal I will get it and let you know how it works out. I think that basket with the protein skimmer would work perfect. But don't mock my words until I get one and try it.

  • @inTankLLC Look at you video. There is a gap. Your not putting big fish into a biocube14 tank. Goby, Firefish, Cardnials get stuck. (I know) Your better off letting them land in the sump or filter side where they can swim and pull them out. The gap is bigger than 2mm.

  • tripod fish my ass.

  • I'm thinking about buying a 14g biocube. If i put the media basket in my biocube would i still need to use a protein skimmer, would you recommend using it with a protein skimmer, if so what kind??

  • @zx45zx Hello - No you will not need the skimmer, it is very low quality anyway. Just stick with regular water changes and the media basket in CH2

  • @StevieT What's CH2? Well i was looking at getting the Aquatic Life Mini Skimmer, the media basket and a The Maxi-Jet 900 powerhead. This would be my first tank and i want it to be the best and most efficient that i can make it. What are your thoughts on this setup? Would i benefit at all from a skimmer? Would you recommend i look in to anything else, cause i am new to all this and your tank is really nice.

  • @zx45zx CH2 = Chamber two

That skimmer will not fit in the BC14. You do not need a skimmer in such a small tank. Just use the media basket and water changes, save your money.

  • @StevieT Will do! thank for the advice man, I appreciate it.

  • great creation I want one for my 14g

  • inTank you
