@hughster41 Should add this to finish. Bet you think that the air in Death valley is drier than that at Antartica. And, a cubic foot of snow holds as much water as a cubic foot of water does.
@hughster41 Will finish. Then, you need to change jobs! You seem to (know more?) than the scientists. Sound like those who know more about medicine than their doctor. All professions have those on the outside that, (know more!)
@hughster41 Polar bears? Do know that while there are more now. A large part to being on the endagered list. They are also drowning since they can't reach from one ice cap to another! So, that could change. The ice caps they need are becoming fewer as well!
@hughster41 So he bought a house there. People buy houses in Hurricane prone areas. Since you mentioned california. In california people build houses on Mudslide prone hillsides!
Remember, there is just as much water now as there was millions of years ago. Once Antartica was tropical. So, if the ice melts. The ocean's level will rise.
@hughster41 never hunted? Let's see have my Great Grandad's 1910 Remington auto Loader. My Grandad's 1925 Winchester model 12. 2 Browning BPS. My family has bird hunted for about 100 years at least. Global warming is a good thing? If, you watch that very biased liberal Secrets beneath the ice I mentioned. You would have seen how Scientists feel that if the Earth becomes more like the days during the dinosaurs. When there was little ice. That a large part of the US would be under water
@hughster41 Bet you believe in the Lost Continent of Atlantis. Global warming did happen centuries ago. But, that doesn't mean that mankind can't help it along. But, since you feel that PBS is a biased liberal. Wouldn't be surprised if you feel that the saving the wildlife in Africa is a big liberal plot as well!
@hughster41 Anyone can give someone else a label. Conservatives do it all the time. But, since this is a video on the weather. It's always amazing that those who think they know the most about the weather. Are not in the weather business. Oh, wait! Maybe for the safety of the public. Is why they aren't in the business! THey don't even know basic facts! Bet you thought the air in Death valley is drier than the air at Anartica!
@hughster41 Didn't say you did. What I did say is that your PBS is a very biasd liberal agenda. Because you do not agree with them. Sounds just like the Neo-nazis who used that same mindset towards anything they don't want to agree with, either! Give it a label and accuse it of whatever to justify your label.
@hughster41 You're the one who when doesn't agree with data, calls it fake. Then, tell me this. Which has more moisture and can hold more energy. Warmer or colder air. You should say warmer air. Think steam. So, when the weather becomes warmer. More violent storms are created. Even, in the winter. It can become too cold to snow. All this is basic fact. While a more severe snowstorm can't prove global warming. It also can't disprove it, either!
@hughster41 : if such events happen more frequently in New England than in the past, it is definitely caused by the warming climate. An ice storm is an invasion of warm air aloft, which causes precipitation to fall as rain in a freezing layer at ground level. Ice storms are often followed by a thaw (warm front). Second: weather and climate are not the same.
i was pissed. all my freinds were ridin there dirt bikes nd atvs on the road to mc dicks nd stuff. cus its legal in mass to ride thoes do that in a state of emergency
This was pretty to look at, But it sucked SOO MUCH.
A couple days after it happend we went driving around and the only store that we could find open was papa ginos across from quinsig community. I have never before seen so many people at papa ginos in my life lol . We waited a while for some nice WARM cooked food that REQUIRED POWER lol .......... it was good.
THANK FUCKING GOD ITS OVER! i hated it so damn much, i was luckier then the others... i only had about 5 days no power and 5 1/2 no Internet or phone.. i feel sad...
and i remember a night when EVERYONE in my town had electricty but my street... i was happy to find out we got power at like 9:45 AM.
Believe me, you don't want what we had. There are still trees down everywhere in my town. A powerline that came down during the storm in my yard just got removed three days ago. I didn't have power for a week and school for a week and a half.
jackie4583, I hope you experience 2 weeks of no power, heat and water in 20 degree weather. Then make fun of the people who spent their Christmas in a shelter or on the couch of a friend.
Been a New Englander all my life until this past April.....moved to NC. I remember all too well the tough New England weather and my heart goes out to all of you that live there now. I am thankful that all my family in New Hampshire is safe..and haver thier power back..finally..and I hope EVERYONE gets their power and heat back soon!...and to JACKIE4583.....it sounds like you could use a good ole Yankee *ss whooping! :)
hahah. omg to RayAir1. First off, Massachusetts has been a democratic state for so long. Secondly, George Bush didn't go and say "Oh hey lets have a giant ice storm cripple the Northeast." My dad (who works for National Grid) said that it was the worst storm in a decade. I do believe everyone has their power back. After 2 weeks and 18 hour days (for the electricians), I'm so glad it's done and my dad's finally home. God bless the people with power for weeks.
I hope all my other New England fellows are safe and warm somewhere and that damages aren't too bad where you are. We were out of power for a full week, just got it back today at 1am. Got back from college in CA just in time to catch the storm and help my neighbors.
There's a snow storm coming for the weekend for us NH folks, we're not banking on keeping the power we got, so it's a rush to wash clothes, take showers, and stock up on water and gas just in case.
This ice storm was CRAZY! I just got my power back on today, yay! But Worcester was nothing compared to Ashburnham and up North. I heard on the radio that Garnder was hit the worst because they canceled school until Wednesday, lol. Ashburnham-Westminster has it canceled for the entire week, and maybe all of next week because they are saying the towns will not have power until next week.
I live in one of the most badly hit areas, we just got our power back on...
I expect some big snow storms every winter but this was a once-in-a-lifetime storm from what I've heard. I'd say its better to live here in the NorthEast and have to deal with a big storm like this once in several decades than live in the SouthEast and get owned by hurricanes every summer, or in the midwest and risk getting hit by a tornado...
im leaving this comment from gardner MA and this part of gardner still has no power, im leaving this comment with my computer and router connected to a generator.....
never ceases to amaze me how when there are people who are in a crisis, there are still people out there that are so miserable that they leave ignorant uneducated responses. As for you Oddball.. Im really glad that you and your family are safe:)

Haha, deal with it. You all make your choices to live in the northeast, don't expect sympathy nor government assistance, if you don't like being frozen, move west. Merry fucking Christmas bitches.
You, sir/ma'am, are a tool. No matter where you live, you'll experience natures wrath. Remember your comment when a natural disaster occurs in your area.
I live in Worcester. Today we just got our power on. The creepiness of the trees hanging over homes, low power lines, and smashed homes and cars are littering our neighborhoods. My road still has trees blocking one side of the road. This is since Friday! WE're seen tons of repair vehicles from NJ, OH, IN, AL,PA and I'm sure many other states came to help us out. A big thank you from my family.
Man I wouldn't last if I lived in the northeast. having to wear a sweater every day. I sometimes think it's cold here even though I'm from north California. I snow once in Canada and I good thing I just stayed for a week.
the funny thing is, new hampshire got hit harder with this than mass. they say a million people in new england lost power. more than half of that is in new hampshire.
I'm so glad we bought a generator a couple of months ago. We've been told it may be until the middle of next week before our power is back. We have no running water which is the ultimate drag, having to shower elsewhere. Got heat, tv and the internet so it could be much worse. Hang in there my fellow New Englanders, we are tougher than the rest!
