@silenicakes The Elimination of Incompetence. It appears in various forms on no less than three of their releases, Infection and Decline, Spectral Warrior Mythos Vol. 1 and Cataclysm.
i love the people who say these guys suck because they just don't get it. This is the sound of what happens when you put Suicide or Theoretical Girls together with grindcore. It's not meant to be pleasent. It's all about the intricacies of the playing, the willingness to experiment, and the expressiveness of the strange sounds.
You have a point... But I don't think it's not 'meant' to sound pleasant... It's just not as important to the musicians if it sounds good to most people... it's more self-indulgent. I think it sounds great!
Sounds great to me too. But people don't seem to get that the strains of music that they borrow from (grindcore, No Wave, and black metal) are inherently amelodic styles, and even heavily experimental styles. They don't like it because it doesn't sound like traditional radio rock. That irks me.
I guess it makes sense... People've grown up listening 2 1 type of music, it's a leap of faith 2 step out in2 new territory.
People just have 2 accept that music is self-expression, & self-indulgence
- if musicians arent looking 2 appeal 2 the public, then their music tends 2 b complex & esoteric; it's written 4 themselves.
If u dont understand it, its because u werent meant 2. If u enjoy it, then uv taken on an aspect of the musicians own taste. This empathy is what makes music powerful.
@michealdark I assure you, shortening the text to the level that youtube permits for posting was the only reason behind the shorthand. I didn't even write it like that originally, I had to go back and put it in so that it all fit. Aside from that, Thanks.
@CodyRicheson anyone that thinks this band doesnt know what they are doing needs to drop 5 hits of acid, find the loudest stereo they can, and immerse themselves in it for about 5 hours. and only then would they understand the intricacies, the talent, and the amazingness of this band.
There's a lot more than dissonance going on. It's the counterpoint, the odd time signatures, the complex structure, the syncopation...their brilliance goes far beyond their constant lack of harmony.
I want that banner in the back..

Aside from the bad Twitter shorthand, you do make a fine point.

Anybody who thinks these guys don't know what they're doing don't realize the intricacy of their constant disharmony.

u know whats funny,
people call this brilliant,
but its just differnt cause it uses dissonant chords.
and it is very different and cool,
but its not that brilliant.

If you don't need a steel plate put in your head after listening to the Flying Luttenbachers, you weren't paying attention.
