  • Amazing Opera ... as deep and as important as Wagner's Ring (Solti would probably agreed with me on this one) ... and he died in NYC without any recognition ... that's sad ... more that that > that's A SHAME!

  • I believe, every door is a personal memory of Bluebeard, and Judith wants to know all of his past. Three wifes mean:One wife when he was young (morning), the second when he was in his mid-age (midday), the third when he became elder (afternoon). Now he´s old and Judith is the one who shares with him the darkness, the death... For me, this short opera-masterpiece is a journey through time.

  • One of the greatest and most original operas known to me; I fondly remember the terrific performances at the Metropolitan Opera featuring Shirley Verrett and David Ward, conducted by the marvelous Sixten Ehrling.

  • Lovely opera, all I have to say. This language has strong consonants and the vowels sound fine in singing.

  • What an astounding opera. Thanks so much for uploading it. It feels like Bartok concentrated Tristan's four and a half hours into one hour. Absolutely staggering!

  • Thanks for uploading this. I've wanted to Bluebeard's castle for years. I have a PAL video but I can't get it converted.
