  • There are some dead bitter people on here. People seem unaware of the fact that youre just having fun, not trying to enter the winter olympics. Nice build man, im tempted to give it a go myself...

  • Bro theres a company called burton ceck em out

  • The easier way to break your leg.... nice try guys... but u don't have any idea how is a real snowboard....

  • @ThaBassAddict yeah, and they cost 5x more, considering the ammount this cost to make, (if you own the skateboard and backets) itll cost about 5-10£, thats a nice bulid, nice one man!

  • it looks like crap

  • DIY way to go bro.

  • l have a quetion-are you going to sell that on ebay

  • i glued a pair of old shoes to a skateboard :)) it's awesome

  • Or you spend 200$ and buy someones used set, save yourself a skateboard. And accualy have a semi compitent board instead of this piece

  • @Iinspir3d workes if you don't have a snowboard and there is suddenly snow on the ground for 3 days once every 4 years like there was here. That's when something like this is useful.

  • @gomebike 5$ on a plastic sled works well for situations like that lol

  • u shud use that as a longboard

  • This is the greatest shit I've ever seen, the pant belt bindings were awesome! Then he hot waxed it!!

  • i dont see the point.

  • hey i have a gr8 tip for you snowboard, ive made one like this. but ive added runners which stablises and alows you to go in a str8 line and turn check it out on my page

  • i dont get it... wouldn't it be better to just take 30 bucks and buy a crappy board off ebay? then you're actually have edges.

  • @shaneclark121

yes, but when it snows in the south of england it is only here for a couple of days before it melts. i made this in less than half a day from parts i alreadt had. besides, roads were blocked with snow that year causing huge poastal delays so there would be no chance of getting one delivered from ebay even if i could find one for 30 bucks / £20

  • @shaneclark121 find me a snowboard on ebay for £30 and ill buy it for you

  • By the way, Ross123hooper is my other account

just realsed i used the wrong one

  • @diysnowboardmaster hey i was just wondering if those metal things are holding the snowboard together......... cause me and my dad are going to make one ....pleeeasssseee reply :)

  • @777paulw Hey buddy, yeah the purpose of those metal things was to hold the bits of wood together. it needs to be strong or else it will snap! There are probably better ways to make a snowboard as this one was quite heavy, but did the job when a bit of snow fell for 2 or 3 days!.

  • @777paulw Also a major issue i found was that having a curved board (the convex shape of the skateboard widthways..look it up on google) was BAD because the rails need to dig into the snow in order to turn the board. so a flat board with quite angular edges = good. I've seen where people get thin layers (~3mm) of ply and glue many layers with a strong glue like an epoxy resin and whilst the glue is dry, bend the ends up and allow the glue to cure. Probably a better way if you want results.

  • @diysnowboardmaster sorry i meant to say when the glue is WET, bend the ends up

  • @diysnowboardmaster thx we are gunna start very soon thx for the tips :)

  • @777paulw Good luck!

  • Also... nice idea with the foot bindings! and i would recommend making the middle section of wood longer. snowboards are typically 145-165cm and mine was just over a metre. also plane off the sides so they have a nice, sharp 90 degree corner to cut through the snow when you turn. mine is quite unstable at turning. longer would have made it easier. Good luck with it and i hope wherever you are you get lots of nice snow. here it's all melted :(

  • Glad to hear it :)

The reason i wanted the metal bars long as possable is to allow more screws to go in and distribute the stress evenly, also providing the extra strength of the metal. the screws are likely to pull out if too much force is put on them e.g. by landing at an angle not parallel to the ground. so if you want to make the bars shorter make sure to use more bars, right the way along the width of the board and more screws the better.

  • Hi mate its good idea but no offence i think you could of made it better by simply making the metal brackets smaller. What i mean is use shorter metal and its just an idea but on ebay this guy is selling mountain board ratchet bindings for £10 and £5 postage so its verry cheap i got myself a pair hope this helps but i will put up a vid of mine lol got the idea off you so all credit to u :)
