yeh it is a ca18 and he is not aussie and u sould think before u say shit like that coz u sould put the motors in holdens and fords coz we have to all ways save you when u start shit we all ways fight ur wars
You have alot of nerve to make a bold faced comment like that.
when you come from a country that started out as a British prison, should I say your all criminals? You guys also always leave before the jobs done, should I say your country is a bunch of half asses? Your country is the U.K.'s Bitch! If you don't like it, get involved in your government and do something about it.
nice fried coil pack. get a waste spark setup avoid the coil packs from dying in future. its just the nature of the engine an coil setup they are mounted in the hottest place on the motor... in the head so a 19 year old car is bound to have stuff like this fail
hahaha props on no 5. I think you will find that only the basics are designed in the us and unlikely built there due to cheep labor overseas. Most general consumer car electronics come from mitsubishi and i believe an efi engine is only as good as its computer.
It dsnt matter if you have a big hungry v8 under the hood, its all about power to weight. Id like to see how the ls1 in a monaro would do against the k20a Toyota engine in the Elise.
As you can all see (comment #2), i`ve already figured this out. No point in more guessing. But people encountering the same problem might find all these comments very helpful!

As people have said... It could be a Sparkplug or a Coilpack.
Fix your car:
1. SplitFire coilpacks
2. NGK Iridium Spark Plugs

You must be an American. I have a few points:
1) Im not an Aussie
2) I dont have an LS1 or an SR20
3) Nor does this S13, its an CA18DET
4) Jap Engines are usually more reliable than American ones
5) I dont like you.

@Sethjxl k20 is a honda engine the first gen elise has the rover k engine and the new one is some toyota i think k20a swap does seem popular though

Rick340SX 3 years ago
This could be one of two problems, or both:
1) One or more of your coil packs are fried and need to be replaced
OR
2) Your ignitor chip is shot and needs to be replaced.

HahaFlyleaf 3 years ago
It sounded like an American then. It was water in the ignition plug holes. Don`t know how that happened. But now it sounds nice.
