Raises the question as to whether or not the same thing happeded here as to the British Airways 777 at heathrow? Wont find out for a few months I guess.
From what I've heared the pilots were flying on autopilot and the altimeter was giving an incorrect altitude. When the pilots noticed that they were flying much lower than the altimeter's height they tried to lift the airplane but it was too late and stalled.
The plane had enough -and much more- fuel. "Plane could fly 67 minutes more" says authorized people. And the answer for the question "why didn't it burst into flames?": The head captains are very professional and they decided to land on soil to have least damage. First investigate, read the news and then COMMENT!
the plane crashed because of a vortex of another airplane. Because they said that the engines broke off the plane and an engine failure cannot cause the engines to break off. So they said its a vortex and they didnt warn the pilots or the control centre. So they went into the vortex and the plane's engines stopped working thats what happens when another plane goes through a vortex of another plane.. so its got nothing to do with the pilots its a comunication error that caused this!
I believe that it was God's help - most people on board got VERY lucky to stay alive, because when a crash like this happens, fuel tanks explode and everyone dies in flames (remember Concorde in 2000?)
This was kind of scary for me. I arrived at Schipol Airport early wednesday morning, and went to buy a newspaper. On almost all the front pages it was about this accident, and I was not looking forward to go on my next flight :P
Need some help understanding something... The cockpit didn't seem to be damaged to badly. How could the three pilots be fatalities without much physical damage to that area of the plane? Flight deck seems to be very intact without much intrusion. Impact force?
it's seen from the witnesses that the pilots were actually alive injured very badly and screaming and waving from the cockpit for anyone to help them but the rescue crew arrived pretty late and helped the pilots until they got the pessengers out.
bullshit ! withnesses and the farmer said fire and ambulances were extremely fast there ( no wonder because its all close together ) and even if they were alive they coulnd get in to the cockpit.. btw i doubt ur story.. if they WERE alive u would have seen them cutting the cockpit like hell but they werent alive so yyea
From what I've read (but I've read a lot and a lot of it is nonsense and speculations) a panel from the back of the cockpit came loose and injured the pilots fatally
Well, it still is. The only problem is if something goes wrong and you are going down, your chances to survive are very low. You can get away from a car accident, even from a big one with relatively few injuries but from a plane wreck... Usually in a bag. :(
and it still is the safest way....if you really tink about it there are 1.2 million people killed each year in car wrecks....so it really is still the safest way to travel...
This is actually great (I don't mean the 9 dead, RIP for them), you see like 50 ambulances and 30 police cars there: immediate help. Unlike in america; plane crashes have become so ordinary there that the police first starts their investigation and when the case ends (after 4 months) they take out the ambulances to pick up eventual survivors.
hmmm No the first ambulances arrived 10 minutes after the crash. But to get a lot of ambulances (someone said 60 I dunno if that is correct) at the scene will take time that's correct.
My garden allotment is between the farmer's field and the sports center in the Wildenhorst in Badhoevedorp. Do I have to worry about uranium in my root vegetables?
I guess because he was using the emergency lane, while the emergency services need it because of the traffic jams. I think this copper wanted to impress the driver by performing this controlled slip. Probably just because he was frustrated as he had to stop fining people for speeding and attend this crash site.
Re: Police manoeuvre! Absolute madness. Excellent police work!?, the van would have stopped without that!! I'm sure the other drivers' days would have been more pleasant without seeing that idiot swerving all over. As if seeing a crashed airline isn't harrowing enough, then some policeman on a power-trip pretends to be - because he can. Forgot the training argument, there could be any manner of spills/dirt/grease on the hard shoulder so he had no idea what his car would do after the stupid move.
It always hits home when one of these aircraft gets a problem. You just have to remember how many aeroplanes there are flying at any one time to realise how rare this is, luckily. However many lost, it's even sadder to think of all the families involved.
Tragic accident. Good work from the Dutch police. The guy looked like he was driving on the emergency/ breakdown lane to get a better look. Police had all right and justification to do so. Speed was not that high and police are trained for such maneuvers. I am sure he got a considerable fine.
Because they are standing still on the high road, on the part especially made for broken cars. Not for those who just wanted to take a look at the crash.
I can't speak Dutch Jalu.....but I see you too are criticising the madness of the police in that video. People who support them should perhaps remember that the roads aren't a video game!
My only hope is these two clowns get dragged in before their superiors as this reflects very badly on the reputation of the force.

nope.. it didnt having anything to do with the altitude indicator with the 777 while at this crash it did
flyerholland 3 years ago

I can't believe thez are blaming the crash on wake turbulance...
Who is stupid enough to believe this BULSHIT??? Turks who don't want the blame...
Airplanes land EVERYDAY in that airport, why doesn't happen more often?
I think the Turks don't want to admit it but that plane was low on fuel and here's the clue...
IT DIDN'T BURST INTO FLAMES when it crashed...

Because the truck was standing on a lane for emergency vehicles and broken cars, not for watching the plane crash.
