@baiatbun121 likely something in the plot to the movie the clip was from. And unless you are familiar with them, the mosin nagant 91/30 and mauser k98k will look almost the same. So you probably werent aware.
@baiatbun121 The PPSH was a very popular captured weapon (common, reliable, plus 71 round drum mag), to the point where some where modified to take German 9mm instead of the Russian 7.62 pistol rounds, and the Mauser 98k often failed to fire in the cold weather, whilst the Russian Mosin Nagant just kept on going and going (I imagine you could probably take a crap in the bolt action and it would keep working, Soviet weapons are very, very reliable), so the Germans grabbed whatever worked.

What is really making me sad. Most of those battle grounds Finnish men were dying for in WW2 are in Russia now. That's not acceptable. We need to demand our areas back! Did those men die for vain? They were ready to give their life for Finland and Father's land. Can't we make that little by trying to get areas back from Russia? What are we made of? Blitzkrieg...maintained the idea of smashing defences with tanks and stuka's (air artillery) followed by infantry. They would then envelope the enemy and two flanks would meet at one point thus surrounding them...
problem with Russia was that the land mass went outwards the further they invaded so that point could never be met.

Blitzkrieg...maintained the idea of smashing defences with tanks and stuka's (air artillery) followed by infantry. They would then envelope the enemy and two flanks would meet at one point thus surrounding them...
problem with Russia was that the land mass went outwards the further they invaded so that point could never be met.

@TheAwesomeGerman1, Moscow could have fallen but Stalingrad and other key cities could have served the Russians as a starting point in the front toward the recovery of the Russian military. It could have taken the German at least 4 years of similar high costs to the ones of their defeat to conquer Russia anyhow.

@TheAwesomeGerman1 Uhh, no. Because Stalin had already fled east, and the Luftwaffe wasnt able to prevent the Russians from moving their production facilities out of reach. That said, they probably would have taken Moscow if Winter didnt come.

@Nowar9000 Yes mate well said, i find looking at ww2, the build up to war, it's politics, ideology, military tactics; it's all fascinating, all in a window of changing times, destructive weapons, but not too destructive as to prevent their use (nukes etc), it was a great and horrible time, so learn about it, but don't preach the same hate that was around back then. The world was changing, and has now changed. Enjoy this life as many people back then would have loved to live when we do now!

@gameplaya117 Actually, Russia had quality as well. The T34 was the best tank of the war and the Germans never managed to find a solution for it, Soviet weaponry was also of better build than the German stuff, that was made quickly and haphazardly, using scarce resources.

The german panzers were defiinitely better than the T34 no doubt about it, much more armor and the barrel was a shit load longer. And no Russia didn't have quality they threw men into charges without weapons because the manufacturing couldnt keep up with the population. Once again, no German weapons were not made quickly and haphazardly lol. All of their weapons were great and so were the soldiers using them.

the Germans Reached the Outskirts of Moscow but lucky for the soviets winter came along and Froze half of all the german Veichles and Troops Hitlers Generals told him to attack in the end of spring (so he was already their by the begging of summer) or to give them Winter Uniforms but that meant Hitler would think the russian army could beat him sadly that one mistake lost the war for him :/
