@Progressionskater yo 96hatchy is an idiot do the work yourself its only a few bolts not hard at all and if you want more power go vtec its about 20hp faster then this engine and all parts are the same dont go to a shop it literally takes like 10-15 mins to put on a header its just bolts thats why they are called bolt ons

Looks as though he never made it to fifth gear. 1987-90 or 91 Honda civics came with a 4 spd manual standard issue. Five speed transmissions were an option.

hey 96hatchy. those damn cars are amazing. i have a 00' honda civic ex 2 door, and its the nicest 4 cylander with an ohv setup. mine has a cold air intake, ecu chip, and exhaust system it pushes a mean 287hp on a 4cylander head, the next upgrade is a 4 cyl turbo that will boost me to 512hp. decent mileage you have at that too on it for a 96 mines on 83k grats on the trade tho, smart move =]
d16y7 is a powerful motor. i used to carry 2 fat people in the back on my hatch still able to to hit 100mph on freewway lol. have a gsr swap now. still fun smashing with single cam tho

70mph in 2nd, just like my dx. There is a 3.88 final drive in those hatchback transmission, that's why they are much slower and have good mpg. For exemple, the dx coupe/sedan (with the same d16y7 and the same transmission) have a 4.05 final ratio and the ex have the nice 4.25

well i would have no problem racing if you were close to me, but with a turboed civic i would not drive very far to race when i have no chance lol. on my video i had a bad launch too but other than that, it was pretty much all out. my engine falls on its face at 4500-5k. m i found out yesterday my rev limiter is at 5200. if you still had this car i would drive a little out of my way to race it because it looks like it would be a close race
also i forgot to mention i raced a new civic with an exhaust on it down the highway. we we almost perfectly even the whole time until 100, then my limiter kicked in and he kept going.

Cars - I tend to agree. Most cars do stop alot faster than they accelerate. Generally faster cars have better brakes though to compensate the acceleration.
Motorcycles on the other hand can do 0-60 in 3 seconds (600CC motorcycle) but will NOT stop that fast.

70mph in 2nd, just like my dx. There is a 3.88 final drive in those hatchback transmission, that's why they are much slower and have good mpg. For exemple, the dx coupe/sedan (with the same d16y7 and the same transmission) have a 4.05 final ratio and the ex have the nice 4.25
Try to get a ride in a coupe/sedan, the little d16y7 is not as slow as you think ;)

yes it would be the same. yes they are great cars and they handle great too, also they are super easy to drive 5 speed. u can get the tach cluster from a lx or ex civic. the lx civics aren't unusual, in fact the majority of the four door civics are lx's.

i just clocked your 0-60 at 9.29 and your 0-100 at 29.5. my trucks 0-60 is about 9.6 and 0-100 is about 29 seconds. also keep in mind i have a tow hitch so thats a little extra weight. i am taking my hitch and spare tire off when i go to the track in a little bit. where do you live, it would be sweet if you live close to me, for a race.

well i would have no problem racing if you were close to me, but with a turboed civic i would not drive very far to race when i have no chance lol. on my video i had a bad launch too but other than that, it was pretty much all out. my engine falls on its face at 4500-5k. m i found out yesterday my rev limiter is at 5200. if you still had this car i would drive a little out of my way to race it because it looks like it would be a close race

Cars - I tend to agree. Most cars do stop alot faster than they accelerate. Generally faster cars have better brakes though to compensate the acceleration.
Motorcycles on the other hand can do 0-60 in 3 seconds (600CC motorcycle) but will NOT stop that fast.
