  • Whoa! Have no fear of this video becoming "dour"!

The music is perfect just as it is. "A very rapid flash of images", stirring images, is closer to a blur, eh? The land one longs for, the Burns excerpts, the beauty in your laudable, artistic homage to Scotland is often reduced by speed.

Please do lengthen this video for a more generous view. Same images, same music but for six or so minutes . . .a gift to you and your viewers.

Yours is a fine video. Now grant it time to be seen.

  • @sesanner Thank for your overwhelming kind comment! There are some family lairs in this fast pace video. My cousin and I were in search of his father my uncle 's grave. It has taken many kind people, finding unexpected distant relatives and some years of e-mailing to find the place. My mother's family are from Glasgow with a long history which I have researched-genealogy is fantastic.

Thank you again for your wonderful comment.

  • I wasa looking forward to see this vidio ,but it was running so fast that I really didnt.Love the scenery from Scotland <3

  • @atziette Thanks for stopping by & commenting. This is a very personal video for me. It contains photos taken by a friend of some of my ancestors grave stones. I can not travel there now so this video is a very rapid flash of images. I did not want it to be dour or sad therefore the fast paced music from iMovie.

    ~happy thoughts through my looking-glass~

  • Enjoyed the video. I live in Glasgow and only a couple of hours away from this beautifully dramatic scenery. I am sooo lucky, despite the weather. The weather makes us the tough people we are.

  • @johnnytheglesgabhoy Thanks for stopping by and commenting! Happy you enjoyed my video. I have memories of visits to Glasgow as a wee girl. My mother was born in Glasgow and her family go way back. I have done some interesting genealogy research and helped find my cousin's father's grave site. We thought he was buried in Scotland but found he was buried in England. Yes! tough people resilient!

  • @kamele2353 Thanks for the nice comment! Glad you enjoyed the video! It was fun to create. It was made with special people and places in mind.

  • Ma heart's still thar nae doubt, but 'tis awful cold....especially in the winter months..so, a prefer the climes o th'Bowland Fells these days!

  • @Hellishcrusade Thanks for stopping by. The cold moors! Chilled to the bone. Reminds me of Jane Eyre or something else written by the Bronte sisters. I visit those places often ~through my looking glass~. Scottish blood runs through my veins.

  • @Greengypsies Thanks, Frank. Only Robert Burns' words would do.

  • My heart is forver in the Highlands, I was born in raised in Wick!!

  • @beamerofmongoose Had to look Wick up on the map. Way up north! Most of my ancestors are from Glasgow. I only remember Scotland as a wee girl and from a few visits. Thanks for commenting. Glad you enjoyed my video. K

  • What is the name of the song?

  • That was a beautiful evocation of Scotland and of her past. The sadness, the history and yet the thrill of a wild landscape that holds so many memories safely within its beauty.

  • Thank you, Shirley for your kind comment. That's what I wanted to convey! You expressed exactly what my video is all about! Thank you !

  • You've created a feast for the senses, here, Karolyn, as well as for the heart.

    Certainly FIVE STAR work.

  • Thanks, Steve. My Scottish Family&ancestors were Lowland Glaswegians. One Great-grandaunt lived in Nairn but that is as far north as our family lived. You mentioned that you visited Inverness the capital of the Highlands, Loch Ness et al. Such beautiful countryside! Sending my happy thoughts of Scotland through the looking-glass.

  • Thanks Ian, for your kind comment. I can't take all the credit the photos and the words are brilliant. How could I fail with such great words by Robert Burns and beautiful photos of Scotland.

  • Thanks, James. Happy you learned something from my video and liked the pace. I thought it fit well with the theme. Did not want the traditional somber tones. It represents a personal quest.
