I saw this at the age of 10 in theater with my grandma. It made me hope and dream, worry and cry, and smile and laugh. It really was a magical thing for me. I was abused as a child, and the story really and truly touched me. My grandma bought me the soundtrack and I played it over and over and learned every song by heart. To this day, I'm the only guy I know who can sing any song from Annie. This is a pure, innocent movie--one to love and one that I still treasure.

Very different from the stage version...the TV movie is actually closer to it. In fact, they mention the real reazon he wanted a boy in that one. I think they changed the backstory in this one as Albert's British, and had him emmigrate to the US to find a job and support his family back in Liverpool when he was young. The original is something I won't give away, but it's pretty sentimental. :)

well, it's not like that particularly matters... at the time the movie came out, everyone knew the story anyway. The trailer is more to say "Hey - we are finally making this into a movie!", rather than "Hey - Come see this cute new movie!"
