  • I remember that storm. I was at my house in Bayard.

  • i remember this, and your on m street heading on highway 92 i was right behind u when u were recording this

  • rfvovowijv wiovjwiojfojwio jafjwas

    AMEICARA

  • I was out north of town watching it

  • Forgive me, but at 2:00 when you say you're right in the middle of it, why do you sound so surprised?

  • thats heading into minitare neb

  • i have been inside a spin up outside my house, and i was 12 at the time

  • I hope you are a professional storm chaser.

  • I watched this storm from my living room

  • Verne, I just now took another look at this vid, as I saw it briefly a couple of months ago. It is my honor to select you as my candidate to win the "Solid Gold Weavos" award for 2010. Holy smokes, man.....this vid is unreal. I guess I must have not really looked at it the first time around, as this is spectacular. To anybody watching that has never chased....Don't Do This!! People, you have no idea how dangerous this was, his car should have flipped and been tossed at any second. Joel in Tucson

  • Hi Verne, Joel Ewing here. Nice vid of this event here...and I say that in every sense of the word. From experience, I can tell that this one was a heck of a challenge! My chase partner Doren Berge and I rolled onto this storm late, and watched it from a high point east of town. Couldn't see the actual action that you bagged. There were tons of little look-a-likes hanging down at that point, etc. We kept at it until dark. I DO think I may have photo'd a dark wedge later, waiting on pics now.

  • I don't really want to be a part of a pointless internet fight, however, no matter where you live in the U.S., there is some possibility of some natural disaster that may or may not destroy your house. Fighting about it seems a bit pointless.

The video was alright by the way; it was a bit of a challenge too see the tornado itself, though, because something was in front of the camera.

  • @frannyward i would like to see you sit by a tornado on a highway dumbfuck you would shit your pants

  • fricken insane

  • thats whats up.this storm tore trees from the ground and tossed whatever

  • This would make a great On*Star commercial.

  • You should have made this into a commercial. On*Star.

  • Great footage, but why is there a bar in front of the camera for half of the video. It blocked out some of the footage...

  • I take it scottsbluff doesn't get many tornados?

  • DAYUM!!!! SO glad you are safe, Verne. That's too close for comfort!

  • im from england united kingdom but you americans have some balls chacein tornados and be running for my life not tryin 2 recored a tornado

  • run away...we must run fater

  • Great vid... your in the middle of the action, I wish I was there with you my adrenaline would be yeah keep going

  • Could the camera work possible be worse? An amazing opportunity to see the phenomenon lost.

  • @zeze40video stfu, lets see you try and drive through a tornado and keep a camera straight, didnt think so

  • @jaketempleton My family lives in the area so I don't mean to cause trouble. I am do a lot of videography and all I am saying is that if you do this with regularity, set up your equipment so that it captures the rare stuff you are encountering. People swim with sharks, shoot volcanos, etc and get great footage because they prepare. No reason why you can't do the same.

  • @zeze40video Please forgive me for jumping into the conversation here, but please note that Verne Carlson, and his sons as well....are hard-core storm chasers out of Colorado. If you wish to see some incredible tornado footage, just Google his name and visit his site. Now, I don't know what it was that blocked the camera in this vid, but def. know that it was totally out of the "norm" for this man. I'm sure there was a good reason for it. Trust me, this guy is a good photog. Joel in Tucson

  • This vid would be perfect with some scary music

  • omg my freind lives there

  • Scottsbluff rarely, and I mean RARELY, gets this kind of weather, but, when we do, either we get lucky and have nothing, which is most of the time, or we get something along the lines of this!

  • DaggersDen and gohuge. you are both little kids who shouldn't be on the internet if you can't behave. Go back to yahoo! Checkers or your little Farmville game.

  • Oh man that was amazing. Right in the middle of it. Wouldn't you be afraid that it would land right on top of you?

  • I enjoyed the video none the less :]

  • People who live in nebraska and go thru that shit every summer are fucking retarded for not moving.

  • @DaggersDen Your a jerk you have forgotten the face of your father .

  • @DaggersDen Uh tornadoes are the least likely and span a much smaller area than any other form of natural disaster. Widest tornado you will find is 1 1/2 miles (Greensburg, KS). So if you live by the Gulf or East Coast accoding to you people are bigger morons for living there because hurricanes cover a much broader area and you're much more likely to be affected. People that live on fault lines also have a much better chance of being affected by an earthquake. Your statement was stupid, so STFU!

  • @gohuge I live on the EC, and the last time we had a hurricane was 1982 :) whats my excuse?....lol....Seriously though....I wouldnt waste my time on this guy tbh... :)

  • @gohuge Rofl i live in florida, have you even been in a hurricane? its childs play compared to a tornado, unless its above a catogory 3 hurricane chances are your house will still be standing when its over. i've been thru a shit load of tornados and hurricanes in my life and tornados are by FAR the worst. so SHUT THE FUCK UP CUNT!!!. fucking retarded mother fucker.

  • @DaggersDen Dumbass you are much more likely to be affected by a hurricane or an earthquake given the geographical size of the disasters they create so you'd have to be dumber to live in a place those happen frequently. Where exactly have you come across all of these tornadoes in your life? I live in Kansas and the the only ones I've seen are ones I've chased. You'd think someone that claims to have been through a shit ton of TORNADOES would know how to spell it.........ya fuckin dipshit.

  • @gohuge Rofl suck my cock, i'll laugh my ass off when a F5 rips your house to shreds.

  • @DaggersDen It's EF5 dipshit. I suppose you've been in and seen a bunch of those to? Give me a fuckin break dude. You are so full of shit and Your response is typical of dumbass that can't support his statement and can't come up with anything else than a lame weak ass comment like "suck my cock." Try harder dipshit.

  • @gohuge Respectfully, DaggersDen, the Greensburg tornado isn't the widest tornado ever measured, it's the "Hallam" tornado of June 22nd, 2004. Hallam is a tiny little town near Lincoln, Nebraska (opposite end of Nebraska from Scottsbluff). This tornado at it's widest was 2 1/2 miles. It hit in mainly rural areas, and just barely scraped the little town of Hallam with it's outside edge...but it still destroyed the town. F-4 damage was measured. I'll bet it was F-5 at some point, there.

  • Green sky = hail!

  • you should have a contest and the winner gets to go with you on a tornado run. Have it as a rule though, they have to be able to trust your judgement and absolutely no babies allowed, by babies I mean pansy asses

  • I've heard of dodging raindrops, but dodging tornasdos, jeez.

  • Holy smokes dude that could have ended up pretty bad for you... amazing footage though, he who dares ay? It looks like something from 'Twister', how long before we see a vid of a tractor or tanker landing on the road in front of you then? :D

  • did he died?

  • Thats almost too close for comfort. But thats pretty amazing footage! Congrats Verne.

  • that was just crazy......i tensed up watching that and we don't get tornadoes where i am

  • i love storms that look like this...there so pretty

  • Bloody hell! Amazing. :)

Love and light to you guys.

  • I got caught up in this storm too. I was in front of the Wal-Mart lot when the siren right next to me went off. People started running red lights just to get out of there as fast as possible. Within a minute, the full fury of the storm was upon us. Incredible wind & rain with leaves and small debris flying all around; I'm still amazed my car wasn't damaged by the enormous hail. Lots of damage at the Wagon Wheel trailer park, at least two mobile homes flipped upside-down but no one hurt.

  • This video had me "Wowing" the whole time! Amazing footage! Even with the camera strap blocking most of the view near the end. But who can worry about that while driving beside multiple tornadoes?!

  • EPIC debris and tornado video! Thanks for the upload!!!

  • the dominator should have been there

  • lol there was a tornado on my birthday X]

  • He is RIGHT in the path, too. That road heads to minatare and they got hit hard! AWESOME VIDEO!

  • @ those of you complaining, he's literally in the middle of the storm. Yeah, stuff is blowing apart nest to him as he's flying AWAY to get out of the path and he's supposed to stop IN the vortex to get a better camera angle. It's surprising he wasn't hit by all the debris from the signs exploding and chasing him.

  • I wouldve thought the day after 2morrow was happening , when all thoes tornadoes were in LA

  • i live on the west side of scottsbluff. just past the lights you see in the begining. I watched one of these tornados pick up a tool shed 1 block away and slam it through my neighbors roof. then it destroyed a trailor park 1 block the other direction.

  • storm chasers are FUCKING CRAZY but awesome footage dude

  • shara427

wow i love the clouds here.also the color.

  • very dangerous.

  • I love how all the signes are following you vern. lol

  • is this vern from stand by me???? VERNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNN

  • Holy shit

  • wutuhek, i just saw a stampide of signs across the plains at the begining

  • ps3 has no gaems

  • This is interesting & scary ha.

  • That looks dangerous!!! I mean, driving and recording at the same time! The nerve!

  • wow awesome!!!! video guys

  • Wow, awesome footage. Thank God theres no Tornados in UK.

  • omg thats scary!!!!

  • damn nature! you scary!

wish i had the guts, and fellow people with guts to do this with...i pretty much live in tornado central and all we do is cower in our basements :(

  • I love this. Shows who is REALLY in charge.

  • ahhh dude thats scary D:

  • those are small??

  • you call that small??????????? THere is big shit flying

  • Where exactly were you driving and shooting this?

  • I LOVE TORNADO/HURRICANE SEASON!!!

  • @WillysWonkaRS Until your house gets taken away...

  • Wonderful footage and Amazing!!!!

  • Wonderful Footage and Amazing!

  • huu que feo la verdad que nunca estuve presente durante un tornado perodebe ser feo :s

  • i remember seeing my first tornado it was some scary shit!

  • This is kind of a dissapointing video when compared to the higher quality stuff we are seeing now. Rain, debris, and wobbly camera action keep me from enjoying this video. Dislike.

  • @afrosheenqueen I enjoy these types of videos more that the better done videos.there's just something unrealistic about the professional ones.

  • was it dark from the other side in 0:17

  • Either it was your camera, or those clouds were BRIGHT green. I wish I was there. Love it.

  • @AlyTheFlirtyRockstar the clouds were that green. It was ugly. I live in Minatare which is near Scottsbluff and we had the same storm system move over us. We ended up with some uprooted trees, etc. But yeah REALLY green and REALLY dark

  • @daisysasha i live north of morrill... when this system came through i about shit.. i seen 2 tornadoes forming and the hail broke the windsheild outta my truck and a window outta my houe... pissed me off

  • dont get hit with that debree in the beginning that would suck

  • Excellent footage! I would have driven about 10mph. That's the kinda storm when you're under it, little suction vorticies will sporadicly spin up at the base of the storm - if you drive into one too fast it will toss or roll the car.

  • @DimeBagPlz still a great catch though, used to live in Alliance Ne. watched a few roll across the plains!! keep it up

  • Very impressive video!

  • my old town

  • This storm messed up my PS3 gaming last night

  • @hamboythefirst should of bought an xbox :D

  • house flipped over in gering nebraska

  • 0:23 Oh snap, Hail core!

  • there was a tornado here 5 miles out of west point on tuesday june 1st, 2010. thank God it didnt hit our house!!! it hit by a feedlot.

  • nice strap over the lens

  • man i was there! that was really scary!! im glad all the damage we got was a broken window though.

  • Whoa! I live in Nebraska and I was looking at those storms on the radar, hoping you guys would post some video of them so I could see. Man, that was awesome. I glad this stuff didn't hit me!

  • (Inserts "Twister" phrase) Uh guys you just might want to hold back.....We're in the core!

  • Oh you guys gotta do PART2. Its awsome!

  • OMG!!!

  • Amazing camerawork as those tornado's were so close! Makes me want to chase tornado's next year.

  • looks like joel from the stormchasers was in your video at 1:22 seconds

  • Holy cow, while this was happening we were having sunshine in 70 degree weather.

  • i live there and it was scary

  • AWESOME EXPERIENCE

  • holy cow! that was AMAZING!!

  • roflnadoes!!

  • Nice video, look at my vids too.

  • Awesome footage, but might I suggest a camera man?

  • Awesome footage!

  • i wld be soo scared

  • The tornadoes that hit Michigan were worse that I thought. I JUST saw on the news how bad it was.

  • @michelinman8592 yea i think they were

they were all round us in michigan but we got lucky and didnt get hit

  • :OO XD I love tornadoes !!!

  • I would be on the floor of the car screaming like a little girl!! So glad to see brave people so us wimps can watch it!

  • I love tornadoes! but hate the destruction

  • 1:07 is CRAZY!

  • WOW! Excellent catch Verne! Way to go!

  • E muito bonito e perigoso.

  • Excellent capture; wow! FIVE stars! Incredible sctructure, greenage, lightning!

  • i don't know how you could get any closer without being sucked half way up the thing. Amazing video.

  • You know you're close when there's debris stuck to the camera lens...

  • @finallygrownup

Looked like the camera strap, but it could have been debris.

  • U SHOULD SEE STREATOR ILL ITS BAD

  • lol was he chasing the tornado or were they casing him?

  • Comment removed

  • I was in those tornadoes. I wonder if i can add my damage video as a video response. :( Omg... But it made my whole house shake i was sobbing so hard listening to the metal rip and wood snap outside...

  • @CousinNanaJu dam dude i wood cry to we dont get crap like thet in england upload your video man ;))

  • Wow

  • i wish these storm chasers would learn how to turn their windshield wipers off so we can see the goddamn tornado!!!

  • @RotoPlasmX Yeah, because lettting the water build up so both us and them can't see shit is both safe and good? :L

  • @Nathan12380 this chaser is obviously in the core of the storm where there's little or no rain. also, look how he can't even get a good shot of the circulation. the camera's wobbling all over the place and you can't see shit. he did get a great shot of his seat belt though.

  • @RotoPlasmX yeah...i was kinda disappointed too. Could have been one of the better ones

  • @RotoPlasmX You do 'alf complain! :P He risked his life to give ya a video of some wind, be grateful! :P

  • Sweet

  • Sounded like the steve carell dude again

  • too bad it was shot from bad angles.. i bet that was a big rush being in the middle of it all. sweet

  • What exactly happens at 1:10? And was that a satellite tornado at 2:00?

  • Nice!

  • If I am not mistaking they seem to be F0 to F2 tornadoes

  • Dang I knew I missed some great stuff when I checked the live tracker too late. :( Amazing footage. Too bad the view was slightly obscured half way through.

  • wow just a few hours ago...

  • @ericdamexican this was yesterday foo

  • @lavon9305 The 7th. If you count that as yesterday. Lets just say it was exactly 6 hours ago from when I made this comment. Cuz I was just coming home from work and this fking thing was chasing me home. My cousin lives not even a block away from where this guy was filming, and the tornadoes tore right by her house.
