One of the best things Springsteen ever wrote. This is an unreal live version. I notice there's 38 rich pieces of slime that don't like this. Don't blame them really. Just 'cause they're unempathic slicks of sewer scum doesn't mean they can't see the handwriting on the wall. Don't think it's a class war and always has been? You need to listen to this again. Eat the rich Their money ain't going nowhere.
Tom Morello's ending solo is one of the greatest of all-time. What a talent, unbelievable. Loved the homage to Bulls on Parade and you can see how much Bruce respects him. Amazing.
I'm a grown damn'd man, fellow guitar player and retired Army Special Forces and I just broke into choking sobs somewhere early on in this jam....been a long time since music effected me this way,..expert craftsmanship on both thier part,..I guess the last guitar work that stirred this kinda emotion in me was back in 1977 when I was just a kid, Dan Fogelberg's Hurtwood Alley
I swear whenever I hear this I'm like a moth to flame. I feel such a spirit raise up in myself like an eagle and the hopefulness and yearning to create a world where the poor aren't left defenseless against the powerful and Lazarus doesn't shiver in his rags on the street. A world envisioned by humble men 200 years ago which has been twisted and perverted to produce poisoned fruit for the least instead of a bastion of peace and goodwill towards mankind.
Awesome performance. Can't wait to hear Tom's licks on Bruce's new album, "Wrecking Ball". Rumor has it that Tom plays on 2 tracks. Gonna be odd without CC but hopefully there's still enough heart and soul left.
Tom is a very very innovative and talented guitarist. But I don't think his style suits the E Street Band's sound. It was good, but sort of outta place.
People who post rubbish here about Springsteen’s facial expressions or Morello’s voice or “fluffed notes” or the suitability of the duet are clearly just here for an argument. No one has ever proved their cool through sarky YouTube comments. It’s sad that they can’t simply listen to the performance of a great song by two contrasting artists who combine to deliver something more powerful than the sum of the parts. I’m not the biggest fan of either of them, but this was truly special.
@ButtFullofAIDS Tom Morello and Mark Tremonti trading off lead and rhythm guitar (Tremonti also doing backup vocals). Aaron Lewis (Staind) on Lead vocals. Brian Marshell (Creed/Alter Bridge) on bass. and Dave Grohl on drums :P
Damn, this was terrific!! And Tom Morello can stand shoulder to shoulder with the rest of the all-time great guitarists (Hendrix, Page, Gatton, Santana, etc.). He would have fit right in with the best of them back in the late 60s, early 70s. And I like his politics, too. I hope you kids (I'm old) appreciate what you have here...
Love it! Bruce Springsteen and the E Street band. Great music and stories. Thanks for the music that always keeps me rockin'! I love these guys. Rest in Peace Big Man Clarence Clemens. Always remember your strong beautiful Sax playing. We will miss you terribly.
@rugshort I agree Morello's voice is not great but he is one of the best guitarists of all time, as for the song itself i not a great fan of this version but the rage against the machine cover is absolutely superb
How many times can I watch this and not get tired of it? Haven't gotten to that point yet. Even if you're not a Bruce or Morello fan, you still have to appreciate it. It is by far one of the greatest live performances of any song...ever.
