MJ's speed makes the comparisons with Kobe seem ridiculous. Jordan was so much faster that some of his moves looked full-speed in his SLOW MOTION replays. Kobe looks like a less-skilled, less athletic Jordan in slow-motion. Even Wizards Jordan was quicker. ;)

The closest combination of speed and strength to 88-93 Mike that we have today is Lebron, and even he's not close.

The game actually took place 11/9/88. He probably whipped out the 4s around Xmas to hype up the all-star break release. I'm not sure exactly when he would start wearing a new model, but i know he would usually wear a new colorway of the previous year's model for the first part of any given season. for example, he would wear the fire-red 3s at the start of the 88-89 season, the fire-red 4s at the start of the 89-90 season, the fire-red 5s in 90-91, carmine 6s in 91-92, etc.
