  • back when wrestlers were allowed to have personalities and were realistic. now we have cartoon charachters and generic idiots

  • i bought this game in 2002 so i can play as bret, back then smack down and smack down vs raw video games didnt hhave bret hart as playable chracter, its good to see him in recent and upcoming games like svr 2011 and wwe all stars

  • lol This game came out nearly 6 months after Bret left WWF

  • @Gray86Fox I was always curious if he did these promos before the montreal screwjob or after (if he was still allowed to do it while in WCW.)

  • haha this reminds me of the rants on wcw nitro and thunder.

  • @ColorsBright there's some truth in that. But I like to look at it this way, he wasn't a loveable face nor a hateful heel, he was a respectable man in any position you put him in, he had tons of class and just oozed charisma. You loved to love him, simple as that. And there are still guys like him, but to me the top 3 in this category are Bret Hart, RVD anf the Rock.

  • Somebody once said Bret couldn't cut a promo to save his life. Why?? cuz he was verbose and expressive in them? Plus his voice was just right for his aggressiveness, this promo in particular proves it.

  • @shad0wMata Bret was a better heal than face.. especially in moments like this on the mic

  • thats it bret! im going to hunt you down and beat you!, LOL

  • Boy was he shooting in those vids man. All that right on the "Boy Toy"

When it came to promos, he is very underrated, he wasn't outlandish cause he made things seem real, that was what made him so great, he sold wrestling as if it was real life.

The Best There Is, The Best There Was, And The Best There Ever Will Be.

  • I always thought Bret's grudge vids were by far the best in this game, yet he is pretty mediocre on the mic in real life. I remember him saying on Byte This that he never found promos easy because he could never really open up in front of a crowd. Makes sense that his best work is in pre-taped promos, such as this, and his great heel work in Memphis '93.

  • i wonder how many takes it took him to do this

  • Bret always knew how to make things real. I bet he always pictured Shawn in his head.

  • "Ya dirty piece of trash!"

  • Bret was always straight average on the mic, but in this game, his grudge vids somehow turned out to be by far the best.

  • Bret makes it sound like a shoot almost

  • Bret is the only one who had a grudge video that isnt laughable in the whole game lol

  • your right

  • lol all directed at HBK no doubt!

  • Also, Stone Cold.

He was the "bad guy" hero with the beer drinking, cussing and so forth. Bret talks about it in the documentary he did about the WWF(E) and the Montreal Screwjob.

  • Yeah but Austin is a victim of circumstance in this case. I'm sure Bret was more aggravated at Michaels and Vince than anyone else.

  • @zabc19

Austin pretty much ripped off what the Sandman had already been doing in Original ECW!

  • @SinisterManiac Austin is nothing like the Sandman. I'll tell you I guys like Sandman whenever I go out to drink. Austin poured beer down his chest, Sandman is just somebody you would meet in Kensington. Sandman shooting pool, doing lines off the bar and getting his dick sucked in the bathroom.

  • @SinisterManiac: But Vince was paying off Heyman by funding the bingo hall promotion, so Vince felt he was entitled to borrow ideas, since he let Heyman take his extreme style to the WWE in the 80s (The King called it Extremely CRAPPY Wrestling as an play-by-play insult, of course) & both of them were trying to out-do WCW.

  • @matt4lyfe i know it sounds like it

  • @matt4lyfe either him or Stone Cold

  • @matt4lyfe It's to Austin, he accepts the challenge and talks about the anti-hero (Austin's character)

  • Did Kane ever fight Bret Hart?

  • Nope. That would've been a classic!

  • Not as Kane, but Glen Jacobs did fight Hart as Issac Yankem DDS at Summerslam 1995.

  • Bret looks pissed in all of these lol haha great promos!!!

  • Bret, was always the cocky guy

its good he had the skills.

  • LMFAO! Bret was shooting in these videos!

  • i wonder how long it took him to get that right

  • my record was something like over 300 wins and only 2 lost

  • i looooooooooooooove this game ♥

  • It's kind of weird. By the time this game was released, Bret was already in WCW. At least I think so... That's what I read anyway.

  • Yes that's correct. WWF War Zone was released in 1998.

But Warzone's time frame/roster was set in 1997. The same thing with WWF Attitude: Released in 1999, but they had the timeframe of 1998.

  • Of course, I didn't think about that.

  • bret hart

  • Nice, i ruled this game

  • You dirty piece of trash....just messing. Bret made me do it.

  • I taught those wrestlers a lesson in that game!!No matter who it was in a Grudge match,I beat them.I like the game but I hate the grudge matches.

  • no one can beat the best there was the best there is and the best there ever will be

  • Me too!!!!I was pretty poor at first in all of the wrestling games I played but I got better and ruled those games(inculding this one).
