  • Was this yet another of the dozens of completely bogus, made up stories about schools on Fox by any chance?

  • what about freedom of religion?

  • the jesus in the picture has one huge penis no legs and one black eye

    fry the little bastard

  • This was blown way out of proportion. The father is in no way concerned for his child, he wants PUBLICITY. He wouldn't even show up to a meeting about the incident with the superintendent. All the hardcore christians are making a hissy fit over something small. As for the psychiatric evaluation, maybe it is because he is living in the projects of the second most crime infested area of Massachusetts? Tax payers crapped their pants for a $100 appointment.

  • @LaudableSalvation So am I to understand that anyone living in the "Projects" needs a psychiatric evaluation? Where or what is this other alleged "Drawing" the superintendent is making reference to? I'll afford you an opportunity to answer these questions before I start lambasting your liberal ass.

  • The school overreacted big time.

Okay, he draw Jesus on a cross, and what's bad about that? I think it's something sweet.

  • Drawing people getting tortured, killed, maimed, shot, mutilated and suffering is not something children should do.

He should not be suspended, but it's not right to expose little kid's to violence like that. And THEN to say that the man had to endure that because of that kid's evil inside of him.

    Weak.

  • And I don't have the energy to correct my damn spelling mistakes. :p I need my sleep.

  • @bleunt r u stupid or just dumb.. that kid did nothing wrong . jesus died for our sins the boy was just drawing the first thing that came to mind which was jesus what a great first thing ....getting in troble for that is horrible..

  • Nice trolling.

  • @bleunt

What was he suppose to do? If he drew Mohammad, it would've started a riot.

  • You totally missed the point of my comment.

  • Oh, and the superintendent is playing the technicality card

The child was not suspended outright, he was sent for psychological evaluation and could not return to school until he was deemed fit for school, which he was.

So yeah, they didn't fire me, they just said I couldn't come back until I reapplied and they said I could return, completely different. Riiiight.

  • A secondary mystery picture that may not have been even done in school and is enough to send an 8 year old for psychological evaluation but apparently not important enough to show to the child's parents or for the district to even prove the mystery photo exists at all? What?!

And those country club people last summer weren't racist, I bet. C'mon. If it walks like a duck and talks like a duck...

  • LOl i have drawn pics of´the halocaus as a kid and i didnt get jack shit from it :D

  • Julie Hackett,

How does it feel to hate children...?

  • AWW LAWDY.

  • this shit is very stupid , how did this get on the news at all ?

    I feel very disturbed :D

  • i like to erase that supers job.

  • Of course superintendent Hacker isn't commenting of what's on the other picture. That's because there isn't one. This is just an example of a school trying to censor it's students & be politicaly correct.

  • It's a fucking shakedown. The dad wants some free money and the stupid media hasn't even looked at that angle, yet.

  • '...Not commenting on what's depicted in the other picture.' Hmmm, why not? Why not show the 'other' picture? IS there another picture or is someone playing the great game of CYA by obfuscating reality? Just asking. Peace.

  • This whole situation is a joke. A media outlet giving a half-assed fragmented story about a hysterical father who's angry that his son was 'traumatized' from being reprimanded by authority figures, who apparently can't even be arsed enough to get the facts out into the open to help clear thing up. Idiots. All idiots.

  • This school will lose its funding when the conservatives come into power in 2010 and when Palin is President in 2012.

  • Yes, in the free country where students will instead be suspended for drawing mosques and quoting the Quran.

  • Unlike you, I would also fight for those kids rights to draw anything they want that isnt offensive to others or profane

  • Sarcasm in text is hard to get, I suppose. I'm suggesting obscenity is in the eye of the beholder, and the number of people who hear "terrorist" when they hear "islam" is ever-growing and find mosques and Qurans obscene.

Unlike me, someone who supports the teaching of intelligent design and school prayer? (as long as prayer isn't lead by school administration and intelligent design doesn't become shoving bibles and other holy writ down students' throats).

Mind you, I'm an artist myself.

  • I am going to defend everyones right to speak or express their religious beleifs whether I beleive in them or not, because if they cant express theirs, I dont deserve the right to express mine. I do support the teaching intelligent design also, for the fact that science has no clear answer to intelligent design and i think it is almost like Nazis that our government will only let our children learn one side of anything.

  • @bigdogsdontbark

Then fight the tax laws that keeps every religion other than the Judeo-Christian one's that keep minority faiths from organizing and obtaining a tax-exempt status.

Because I know asking to fight the mobs of people that collect to deface, destroy and vandalize such facilities calling it the "spread of satan" is far too much to ask.

And they dare to call themselves persecuted.

  • Interesting ^^

An Atheist who advocates the teachings of both scientific methods., you are a rare breed my friend

I suppose I am the polar opposite and for lack of better word will identify as Christian and I support the teaching of both also.., only difference is I dont think scientific theories belong in school but rather university for those who pursue it

I send my children to school to be educated on fact., not to become engaged in theological debates over the origins of the universe :)

  • @mysty0 No. No. I am not Atheist. I am Christian. I just think that a child should hear more than one arguement on any topic. But there is no Creation arguement in schools.

  • I think theory doesnt belong in the schools with impressionable minds.., no man can be trusted to teach objectively without asserting his/her personal feelings on the matter

But yes both sides of the argument should be heard

My point on encouraging theological debating in schools is it distract the children from the main course of learning while they may be distracted into an emotional response of defending their religious beliefs and subject to being antagonised by atheistic children

  • @mysty0 Yes, you have a good point there.

  • I think I'm going to draw a picture of my grandmother's decaying corpse for my 3rd grade teacher.

What? It's natural, am I right?

  • Poor reporting just someone who thinks they kid walk on water lol. He drew something that consern them and they made sure he did do anything to hurt himself. They will be no free lunch here sorry..

  • This is more of a commentary on how the media will run with a half assed set of facts that support running with the most sensational story possible. Just bad reporting more than anything else.

  • Many of our leadership of institutions are setting the theme that acknowledging love for Jesus Christ is a no-no and comes with consequences. It will get deeper and deeper. Two years from now, maybe they'll throw the parents of a boy like this into jail. The leadership has planted the seed. It could get as bad as Hitler. We are watching Hitler profiles in the making. Therefore, many of us may soon not have to wonder how Hitler got so far, as we may be modern-day witnesses.

  • yeah, chrsitianity is fucked up, idolising dead people on crosses. creepy.

  • You souldnt talk about other peoples religions like that, even if your beliefs arnt the same. Think before you speak.

  • @Bosswoman7

"christianity" has raped and perverted the world, i have no respect for those things.

  • People like you have raped and perverted the world.

  • Penis.

  • For the sake of argument, let's just pretend that god is real and religion is a good thing. Let's just pretend that the way the story broke was spot-on. Let's demonize everyone involved in the school system. Now can we admit that this probably isn't the first time a kid got pulled into the principal's office for drawing a corpse? Finally, an example of artistic censorship christians can get behind. Hypocrites.

  • "They can't mess with our religion. They owe us a small lump sum for this.''

Fucking freeloading asshole. Everything translates into being paid off with these people.

  • the shame is, he was asked to draw something that reminded him of CHRIST-mas. He came alot closer than most people these days. Perhaps its the people who think that the birth of christ involves the mandatory getting of mateirial possession and stuffing yourself, should get checked up.

  • So you didn't watch the clip, huh?

  • i personally think of this as an example of how things are going too far. this will stay with the kid forever. Getting in trouble because he did what the assignment was assignied. Things have gotten out of hand! soon you could get in trouble if you don't walk straight.

  • The school superintendent is a downright LYING devil worshipper. The parent had to pay for a psychological evaluation in order for the child to be able to return to school. That school superintendent, teacher and principal should ALL be fired. This is emotionally damaging to the child.

  • Come on, it's ok for kids to believe in Santa, but they are interrogated and forced to prove they are not mentally disturbed since they believe in Jesus Christ. The school staff needs to be suspended pending a psychological evaluation for whorshiping the devil.

  • lmfao funny shit. this country is so fucked up from the head down!

  • :::eyeroll::: That dood's head must be ready to explode because he can't throw down the race card. Nothing to see here...move along.

  • How was race even mentioned? Maybe if you weren't so quick to assume black people like to pull the race card, race wouldn't have even entered your mind.

  • gbhobson the parent has never said anything about race. Get your facts straight.

  • if it wasent for Jesus, they woulda never had that 8 day candle OR the flat bread with givilta fish, ya know? And when Jesus got stuck in that whales stomach and lived that shoulda proved he could turn do just about anything. so there.

    bt

  • thats what i thought too

  • A similar incident happened to my son. He was told to stop talking about Jesus at school or else. This nation is being run by ungodly leaders. You've made your choice. Just don't complain about hell. I think that is fair to ask of you.

  • You make my decision to be an atheist easier and easier.

  • sidittygal, that is your choice to be an atheist. But no one has tried to suspend you from school for your beliefs. It hurts of your choice, because I have seen and experienced Heaven. Had the Lord not taken me up on this journey, it would have hurt me less. Of course I believed in Him always, but once I actually exerienced the beauty of Heaven, I am sad that you might miss out on what you could have. W/o this vision, Heaven's beauty would have been a mystery to me.

  • LSD is pretty cool, huh?

  • no drugs loonmaniac. It happened in 1997. Even my own Pastor will not allow me to share this Heavenly experience with the church members. I won't stay in the closet forever with what happened. While we're on the subject, I was given a tour of hell (on a separate occasion) as well. I was invited on these journeys, as I surely could not have done this on my own.

  • Somebody (kids father*cough) is looking for money. Kids are not TRAUMATIZED by these little misunderstandings unless the parent makes a big deal out of it. This father is clearly seeing dollar signs.

  • and u clearly are not a parent of anything but 2 dogs and a cat. sending the kid home over a drawing, is WAY out of hand. it does traumatize the kid because the kid will alwways be known as the one taken out of class.

    bt

  • I don't raise my children to be "ready and willing" victims in exchange for a profitable lawsuit. I don't suggest to them that they've been "traumatized" so that they can fool themselves into feeling guilt-free on easy repercussions against the system. I ask them how THEY think they should feel. And then, "If you want tolerance from others, where will you draw the line at giving it?" I educate them about occasional misunderstandings so they can still feel good about themselves and the world.

  • Exactly, I'm waiting on the law suit.

  • Welcome to socialism of USA. This is why America will go bankrupted.

    NO JOKE.
