LET ME ASK YOU: DO WE NEED TO CHANGE ANY FUEL FILTER? HOW YOU CHANGE THE DRIVE BELTS? MAKE A VIDEO FROM THAT.
I SEND IT,TO REPLACE THE TIMING BELT TOO EARLY AT 52.000 AND THE DEALER WANTS $ 689+ TAX, I SAW IT TO EXPENSIVE AND I WENT TO OTHER FACILITY AND IT WAS A REAL MESS, YOU CANT IMAGING. I SPEND 2 WEEKS WITH THOSE PEOPLE AND AT THE END I HAD TO PAY MORE. CAUSE THEY ONLY CHANGE THE BELT AND NOT THE TENTIONER AND ALMOST LOOSE MY MOTOR. SOME TIME IS NOT GOOD AT ALL GO AWAY FROM DEALER.
@ThePariss333 I heard the timing belts on those vans was a real pain and that the tensioner needs replaced because they go bad. I can try to make a video for changing the belts and fuel filter. The van belonged to a friend so I'll check with them to see if I can use it for a video.
LIKE I SAID BEFORE. THE DELAER HERE IN LAS VEGAS,CHARGE ME $450 FOR 6 SPARKS, AND I CHECK AROUND AND OTHER FACILITY ASKED $ 154, 250, EVEN $389. I WOULD LIKE TO DO IT BY MYSELF,BUT LOOKS COMPLICATED. THE FRONT PART IS NICE AND EASY,BUT NOT THE BACK PART.
@ThePariss333 I don't know what you would break changing spark plugs that would be that expensive. Dealerships charge between $90-$100 flat rate (usually), independent shops are about $80. Going through the dealer you will probably pay about $10/plug. To do this you also have to remove the upper intake so there’s the cost of a gasket. Probably $50? You are already above $100 in parts, plus 4hrs in labor=$500. Think we spent $12-plugs, 18 for both gaskets, $100 for plug wires (advance)=$130
I HAD FOUND PLACE WHERE THEY CHARGE ME $ 158 FOR 6 PLUGS IN MY MINIVAN. MY HAS ONLY 57.000 MILES, OTHERS $ 200,398,450. DONT YOU THINK ITS A LOT OF WORK,TO SAVE $ 100 OR 200? EVEN MORE, THEY GIVE YOU GARRANTY ON THE JOB. WHAT GARRANTY WILL YOU HAVE, DOING IT YOURSELF,IF SOME THING GOING WRONG? FOR A MECHANIC ITS OK,BUT FOR PEOPLE WHO DOESNT KNOW ABOUT MECHANIC,NO WAY.
@ThePariss333 I took my 2002 to KIA dealer and they wanted $800 to replace sparkplugs. I think this video will save me a whole bunch. That includes the coil for the 6 plug.
@TheSlammed if not more. Labor quote is about 4 hrs. Labor at the dealer is about $400, independent shop would be about $320...just labor. You go factoring in dealer part prices and you save that much more.
