  • Hi guys I need help immediately on this one similar to dosa I tries making idli batter with idli rava in the ratio 1:2 with urad dal and rava my urad is extremely creamy when ground and I even mix the batter with hand for warmth to the batter and keep it in a pre heated oven of around 350 degrees fahrenheit but yet the batter doesn rise!!!I put salt too but yet fermentation is a failure!can u guys help me please?I wud appreciate immediate help

  • @roopa8683 : Sorry - somehow missed your Q. Fermenting at 350 degrees in an oven, you have killed all chances of the batter rising. :( the oven was too hot.

When we say pre-heated oven for fermenting, it just needs to go up to 100-150 degrees and then turned off and THEN put the batter in the oven - 350 is too much.

Sorry, it was such a wasted effort - but please try again...

  • is it possible to make this dosa with brown rice instead of normal white rice?

  • @akashshah1907 : It can be done. We personally have never tried it but know of some viewers who did - they were happy with the results :)

  • how do I store the batter for a month ..Can fermented batter stored for that long ?

  • @ishitaaaa : Yes, it can be stored in the freezer.

  • What is the name of the rubber spatula you are using?

  • Amazing recipe, cant wait to try it. can you get us a recipe for oats upma

  • Well done girls. This looks delicious

  • That's not premier,is that cuisinart blender you are using

  • @sandhiya3 : It is a Cusinart Brand and the model is :SmartPower Premier™ 600-Watt Blender

    CBT-500.

    Thanks for the correction :)

  • very good great and simple healthy delicious recipes

  • very great simple and super reciep

  • by mistake i added some oats and potatoes i had ground up for a face pack to the dosa batter and i made the most amazing dosa. maybe it doesnt need that much

fermenting as quick oats may not have as much body as rice.also the potaoes gave it a really nice flavour. for the quantity you made may be one big potatoe and maybe some green leaves as you are trying to make it healthy.

  • This is awesome. Which cuisinart blender you are using? I have been looking for a good blender for grinding dosa stuff and would like to get your recommendattion. Thank you Hetal and Anuja.

  • @marathmol : SmartPower Premier™ 600-Watt Blender

    CBT-500.

  • hgjhjh

  • Can I use coconut oil to drizzle on top of the dosa

  • @neil2090

Yes, you could use coconut oil. The flavor will be noticeably different.

  • I was hesitant abt Oats Dosa until I saw this post. They came out great for me. I also added some Poha for added softness. Thumbs up for this recipe.

  • Thanks very much. This is something that makes dosa eating healthier, although there is a lot of preliminary stuff that needs to be done! In california one can get Shasta's Dosa batter with which one can make Dosas,Uttapasand Idlis as well. I am going to try and modify that batter by adding oats into it and try it out. Thanks Anyways!

  • is there any sweet variation for oat dosas

  • Wow I must have been sleeping. I never thought that oats go so nicely with dal. Great meal great aunty Meena ☺☺☺.

  • @amitadhikari11 : This Dosa is very flavorful and you can have it either with Coconut Chutney or Dosa/ Idli Powder. The filling you are talking about is made with potatoes for masala Dosa. You can use that for this as well, we are sure it will taste good.

    Enjoy!

  • hi, where can i find that curry powder? it looks yummy.

    thanks ladies!

  • @helitron19 : It's known as Dosa or Idli Powder and can be found at Indian or South Asian Grocery Store or online.

  • Hetal, Anuja, Another great video, ladies! I had started the dosa making process, but inadvertently, I left the oats soaking overnight instead of one hour. I threw that lot out and soaked another batch and ground that with my rice-daal batter, but wanted to find out whether I made a mistake by throwing away the overnight soaked oats? Could I have used those oversoaked oats in my batter? Thanks for your great videos and tips! Also, both of you are looking very cool and pretty in your videos!

  • @peacelily2025 :We have also (forgotten) soaked our Oats for 5 hours and they were OK. Not sure about anything longer :(

  • Amazing video ladies, thanks for sharing...........:-)))

  • Excellent...I could see everytime there is some sort of improvment everytime I c a clip from u. Thx 4 that.

  • I just made the batter.. I have kept it for fermentating.. Can't wait to make dosas tomorrow morning :)

  • Thank you for the video. :) I wish you had a show on the Food Network. To my knowledge, there is not a program for Indian cooking. Please submit your videos to them! What do you have to lose? You both look beautiful and you are very nice people. That comes through on your videos. The camera loves you and so does a lot of people!!!

    Rebecca

    Anuja did you lose weight?

  • @MrsMoroccanx : Thank you for the compliment ;)

  • great recipe!!

  • oooh

  • Thank you. Good recipe...just a tip - use the soaked water for grinding; that way you get more wild yeast which makes fermentation better..

  • @arasugp83 oh wow thank you did not know that i always drain that water out then use new water but i will try this, thanks

  • The food is hot, the hosts are hot!!!!!

  • Yum! I have NEVER made dosa. I will try this as a healthy snack. Keep up the great vids... :)
