  • That was one of the most emotional nights of my life. I hope the victims find closure and know that the students are praying for them. Penn State forever <3

  • @LauraPSU12 BOO HOO HOO, cry me a river for your child molesters and child molester enablers who got fired. "POOR, POOR JoePa" The waste of good candles and tax payer's money at such an outrageous event is disgusting beyond belief. You need to take a good long look in the mirror at your deeply delusional emotional state.

  • @Rda131Brian How dumb are you? That vigil was for the victims not Joe Paterno. Taxpayers money? Students put that together via Facebook and the band played. Praying for the victims of sexual abuse is what everyone should do

  • @LauraPSU12 Your not being truthful, EVERYONE THERE, including YOU, were actually crying for your fired "POOR, POOR JoePa". It was obvious to everyone outside of "Happy Valley" just how sick and twisted the student body is at Penn State. Good riddance to JoePa!

  • @Rda131Brian Everyone outside of Penn State was mourning for Joe Pa too. Only one twisted are the people like you saying Joe Pa deserves this. What he did was wrong yes, one incident and suddenly he's a horrible person? You realize you're talking about a human beings life here right, this guy did more for a college, city, and individual lives than you'll ever think of in your little back washed demented brain of yours.

  • I would also like to note that only a small few participated in the riots that were shown on tv. Each year, 96,000 students are enrolled at PSU. About 9,000 rioted. That's less than 10% percent of the student population. The other 90% of us are more concerned with restoring integrity to the university and helping the victims. This video is a glimpse at the 90%. Instead of bashing this school, use your time, talents, and energy to prevent all child sexual abuse and neglect. We Still Are PSU! <3

  • @ultimatediva491 You look like a PS person by saying "90% of us....." While I feel bad for the victims, based on being a husker fan I can somewhat appreciate your reaction. I am not thinking I would have the easiest time hating some of our most respected coaches if they were involved in something of this level. I mean I get it is wrong, but I also get that you have to understand that it looks like students respected the leaders a week prior to admission

  • Sandusky is retired. He doesn't work for the University anymore. I, personally, did not know who he was until this scandal came out. Back in 2002, I was in elementary school. Now, I am at Penn State getting a world-class education. The Penn State community as a whole is just as shocked, saddened, and disgusted by the allegations as everyone else. My focus has and always will be on the victims in this case. Let us pray for them and their families and give them our unwavering support.

  • Listen to these SANCTIMONIOUS ASSHOLES who claim that this was a "vigil for the alleged victims", and any one who claims this because they say that they were there is clearly a Penn State brainwashed, brain dead zombie.

  • @Rda131Brian You have problems. Wow. Just wow.

  • @Rda131Brian How so? Just curious as to why you believe that.

  • @Rda131Brian i was there you ass! that vigil was to support the victims of these horrific crimes!

  • @demigod2324 You were still supporting child rapists and the cover up of those child rapes by your beloved Joe Paterno and company. Any kind of associations with such vile and disgusting beings is nothing to be proud of in any way! YOU should be ashamed of yourself, these are horrific crimes, you ass!

  • @Rda131Brian no people like you are the assholes! You claim we "put football before the victims" than when we show support for the victims(which we always had) you criticize us for that........wow think about how stupid that makes you sound!

  • @Rda131Brian trolololol

  • @Rda131Brian have fun with those lawsuits coming your way than!

  • @Rda131Brian *facepalm*

  • And that man and his wife happen to have donated large sums of money to Penn State and to Sandusky's charity, both individually and through the company whose current chairman is now heading Penn State's investigation. Yeah, Kenneth Frazier is going to crack this thing wide open.

  • To review: Penn State, the school accused of covering up Sandusky's alleged crimes, has begun its own inquiry, which is headed by a man with a history of engaging in cover-ups, and who is chairman of the same company that once was chaired by a member of Penn State's Board of Trustees, who, in turn, is married to a member of the board of Sandusky's charity.

  • Riot one day, hold a vigil the next. Fuck off Pedd State!! YOU ARE ALL FULL OF SHIT. You're school now has the reputation of a run down high school. good job!

  • we are penn state

  • Comment removed

  • Dear Ol' Penn State your love and beauty out shadows that evil that was done God is with you all..

  • @ThePaullep That is what occurs to me when I see a comment like yours is that why is it that media is so prone to loving talking about their school in such a way when a "scandal" happens but as soon as they do good things they are anonymous. Course than I go to an anonymous community college that doesn't get any attention for anything and would probably get more media news if it got in the headlines in a bad way. I really wish media wasn't so much this way.

  • @ThePaullep It isnt like students are doing good things to get attention for being "good" but it is like why are you giving the bad person on their campus more attention than there good causes have probably gotten in 25 years total. Probably makes the person who does nothing wrong on campus a litttle ticked/.

  • @JerseyBlackAtheist and you are an ignorant asshole

  • @JerseyBlackAtheist I bet you couldn't even get into Penn State sorry Bro!

  • @ipiraidhi lol. Pedo State was my safety school, shithead. Pedo State ain't shit, and after this pedophile coverup, won't be shit for a LONG TIME!!! LMAO

  • @JerseyBlackAtheist says the one without a college education

  • @ipiraidhi LOL how would you know? I am in grad school right now, jackass. And even If I wasn't, it beats graduating from PEDO STATE

  • WE ARE.. PENN STATE!

  • Perhaps if 10,000 Penn State students held a "Joe Paterno is the biggest scumbag on Earth rally", then the students wouldn't appear to some people to be such disgusting douche bag, brain dead, zombies from Hell, hmmmm, NAH!

  • @Rda131Brian your right we never would because Joe is a great man no matter how the media tries to portray him.... The actions of one person doesn't make the entire university support child molestation because if it did i would be in jail, but wait im not nor is Joe..... Joe is role model and his legacy will live on.... WE ARE... Penn State

  • @Rda131Brian People constantly say this kind of stuff as though Paterno et al acted creepy and slimy and immoral before all of this came out. That is what is the saddest part of it is I am seeing students being led to believe they were being supervised in a sense by a person who had character and when that isnt' the case all of the suddent I am guessing is where the attitude came from

  • Penn State students are Rioters supporting child molesters and rapists,PERIOD!

  • @Rda131Brian your a fucking retard...... Period

  • @Rao665 : My point was (until people like you try to misconstrue it) that no matter what these students did, anything they did, would have been absolutely picked to pieces and made negative. This was a good, heartfelt act by them, an act by students who truly felt bad about what others did to innocent people and they tried to do their part to make a horrible situation a tiny bit better for abused kids. Why can't we leave this situation at that? .. Oh, because that would be kind.. God Forbid.

  • @Rao665 : No, but you're a perfect example of someone who will be mad about the rioting and say that "Oh, how dare they. So selfish. What about the kids!" And then, the students do something about it, they have this Vigil, they raise money for awareness and you come back again with your "and T-shirts sales are going to make EVERYTHING better" Comment. Of course it doesn't "make EVERYTHING better"... Yeah, that's really what I thought, oh, a vigil, problem solved.. really? really?

  • Do I see any hate in this video? Nope. Do I see any hate from the comments posted on this video? Yes. It is phenomenal how people could form so much hate out of nothing.

  • ~Why wasn't this vigil, if for the poor innocent victims, held sooner? ~

  • @victorianlulu There was a facebook group created as soon as news came up. This was the friday directly after Sandusky was charged. I watched as the group grew from 1,000 attendees to 11,000.

  • @MrNickelCobalt ~Thank you, dear.~

  • This is all about FOOTBALL! It's about Football and grieving for Joe Pa getting caught covering up child molestation that cost the school their beloved coach. They give lip service that it's about the victims, but anyone who is not deeply emotionally conjoined with the cult of "Happy Valley" KNOWS the truth about these sanctimonious hypocrites.

  • @Rda131Brian Do you think there is any chance that if Joe Pa was a dignified human being in any way shape or form in the last 6 months of his life (ditto with Sandusky) that maybe students actually believed him and trusted him as well?

  • @AnneLiesveld I am sure there are tons of students who care about victims too, but saying they are santomonious hypocrites for respecting a leader on their campus is a bit extreme too.

  • My only hope and prayer is that Penn State is sued into oblivion, so that this EVIL university and all of it campuses will no longer exist.

    In Jesus' name, AMEN!

  • @Rda131Brian Wow, don't take the Lord's name in vain. I pray for the victims, students, and ignorant, naive people such as yourself.

  • @Rda131Brian Sorry you didn't get into Penn State ignoramus...Go vent somewhere else

  • @Rda131Brian Students are dancing and playing with the kids, trying to make their fight against cancer easier. I understand people criticizing the students for rioting, i was disgusted too, but saying the students assault kids? One man assaulted children in a completely different program but he is NOT the university. You clearly have no idea what THON even is, come down for THON weekend, it's february 17-19th at the bryce jordan center. Maybe then you'll see how dumb you sound right now.

  • @klk5396 I would never lower myself in helping you at fondling sick and dying children.

  • @Rda131Brian penn state has no connection the the second mile program

  • @TheIEvon Hey fuckface your school was and STILL is a financial donor to second mile predator group. Check your facts.

  • @odinatorx1 This isn't about Second Mile. This is about Sandusky. Check your facts.

  • @MrNickelCobalt ```Your fellow cult member ThelEvon said ped state had no connection to second mile. I responded to his uninformed statement, thats specifically what he wrote. He was Wrong. Why divert this fact genius, Ped state IS a financial supporter of this pedophile group. Are they not?

  • @odinatorx1 Financially, possibly correct. They had no knowledge of this before the allegations, of course. Penn State (I'm assuming that is what you are referring to as "Ped state") is seen as completely immoral in your eyes, and I am ashamed at how certain parts of the media and fellow Americans have portrayed it as such.

  • @odinatorx1 And just a word of advice: try to focus on the big picture, rather than just the insults and negative feedback that the school is getting. Maybe then you'll understand.

  • @Rda131Brian you are one fucked up person. You should go raise 9 million dollars for pediatric cancer to make up for this disgusting comment you made.

    Burn in Hell asshole.

  • @tnos10 For your information, you must pay the "9 million dollars" for he who smelt it, dealt it! Also, check out "Tim and Eric Awesome Show, episode "Cinco Brothers", obviously this will smarten you up a bit, and keep you from burning yourself down in Hell. ; )

  • The idiots that rioted, we can't take back. About 4000 gathered that night, yes, I was actually there (most students actually live downtown, shocking right?). I'll give those the benefit of the doubt that 1000 (more like 100 of the bunch). It only takes a few kids to flip a van. 40000 students at Penn State. Assuming 1000 idiots, that's only 2.5% of the school. 10000+ at the Candlelight Vigil. That's about 25%. But people like to think negatively, really productive. Hating on fund raising? Wow.

  • I like how everyone is quick to judge Penn State students rather than offer any insightful input to a solution. This is now a NATIONAL issue and not just LOCAL. So what have you done lately? Post here to bash on Penn State? You do not have to be a Penn State student or live in State College to do something.

  • @jashuawhite what are you doing? Crying like a bitch cause Paterno got fired like he was supposed to???

  • @jashuawhite

    Well said.

The underlying lesson this scandal teaches us is obvious -- TALK IS CHEAP.

Sandusky "talked a good game" -- and we know he's a sick, *evil* person.

Paterno "talked a good game" and we know he's a hypocritical little phony.

Which brings us to the people who post on the Internet and ... just talk ... AND DON'T DO A DAMN THING!

  • @jashuawhite I agree with you, the current students at Penn State rather they are at their main campus in State College or one of their off site campus Pennsylvania, didn't even know about Sandusky I'm sure none of the students at any of their campuses had even heard of Sandusky, they are being treated like they knew about Sandusky, most of the students were just kids back in 2002.

  • I really can not believe some of the comments I'm reading on this video. Apparently us students can't do anything right. The public is making it look like were just the bastard-children of Sandusky. One man does not represent what Penn State is or what it stands for. The whole community comes together and its just dissected as an attempt to save-face? The public is complaining that we forgot about the victims. But arent they doing the same when they make comments like this?

  • @ComadorWiggles The public didn't forget about the victims, it just they could care less about them. The public cared more about getting JoePa fired, and making Penn State look awful. However, us students held many prayers over the week for the kids, we held a vigil on Friday. Prayed again on Saturday. And also are donating to RAINN. We're doing a hell of a lot more than the rest of the public.

  • @klajcollege I think Penn state and the students have made themselves look aweful all on their own.. Public had nothing to do with you dumasses protesting joepa being held responsible for his lack of action that he himself admitted to.. The public had nothing to do about your campus covering up a sexual predators action because it would have tarnished your "good" name over a decade ago had it come out..

Again, you prove the publics opinion of how twisted you, your campus, your states is.

  • @klajcollege You think that Praying is gonna fix this shit? Taking action is gonna fix it and only action.

If you pray, pray that you get the fucking balls to question what has happened, open your hearts AND minds. Aggressively insist that this does not get swept under the carpet as it has in the past, sponsor a "flip a van for a victim" day instead of trying to defend anyone that directly or indirectly through lack of action sponsored these horrible crimes to children. Period.

  • @klajcollege send the message to these pedo's that they should fear for their lives, trust me when I say, I cannot express to you in words what I would do to someone that hurt my young children, there is not end to what I would do. When you kids yourself have kids of your own this will come full circle and then you will finally understand why the "public" is so angry about this, trust me when I say, they dont teach you kids that in your classes it comes in time and experience.

  • @Whatdafukification I believe if this would ever happen to my kids, and I pray that it will never, my anger, my hatred, would be focused on the one responsible for robbing their innocence. I could give two shits about anyone else. I would want that rapist's head, I would want him to never see the light of day....Maybe that's why I think people are attacking the wrong person.

  • Zombie Nation and Penn State...a fitting mix.

  • Too little, too late. You guys should have held this vigil as soon as the allegations hit the wires and before the rioting took place. Now, all your intentions such as this "vigil" are suspect. #scriptedforthemedia

  • Funny thing is is that this whole vigil is really for the death of their religious football program

The situation stinks of self-obsession and selfishness. The vigil is only due to the media coverage, because if you ask PSu students most of them will defend to the death Paterno's protection of a known child rapist

These kids need to grow up and realize their false god, joe paterno, actively covered up a known child-rapist. Until you accept this you will forever be shamed by everyone else

  • @Rda131Brian the vigil was for the victims, not joe pa. We raised $20,000 for the prevention of child abuse in a matter of three days, we raised $9.5 million last year for pediatric cancer, google thon and THAT is what penn state is. So if those actions make us assholes then hey I'll take it. I'd rather be an asshole who helps raise money for kids in need than a person who can only criticize through youtube students trying to show support for victims.

  • @klk5396 I would rather see you take the 9.5 million and the 20K and buy a fucking clue into the corruption of what has happened, who were the players, not only your campus, but the staff that have gotten away with this for decades, also your local and state goverments involvments and their roles in all of this, you students are not entirely the problem but your lack of action in that sense of demanding answers is to determine who spear headed this cult like mentality.

  • @klk5396 THON is nothing more than a smoke screen for all of the hypocrisy THAT is Penn State. How about these sick bastards here? This "Vigil" was in fact a rally against the negative perception of Penn State from people outside of "Happy Valley". At Penn State it's all about perception, and that same fear about the negative perception of others is why Joe Paterno and others at Penn State decided that it was better to cover up child rape rather than turn the Pedophile in to the police.

  • IN MY COUNTRY WE WOYLD TAKE RED HAIR ASHOLE COACH AND SANDUSKY AND TIE THEM NEKED TO POST AND LET GOATS BUTFUCK THEM. WE DON NOT NEED "EVIDENSE ;"

  • @Rda131Brian that's why we yelled that part louder than the rest we r disgusted!

  • @vikings844 Yeah....we really hate kids here. Nevermind the fact that we raised $315,000 in those 3 days afterwards for child abuse victims. Or that we raised $10,000,000 for pediatric cancer last year. You are an outsider looking in....I wouldn't expect you to understand.

  • We are not pedophiles, we are not drunken idiots who flip over a van, we are not a football team, and we are not this scandal. WE ARE PENN STATE

  • and the whole penn state community goes too all these lengths of support for the abused and they just get hate? Get your head out of you're ass and stop worshiping the media.

  • @craftbrosify Get your head out of you're ass and stop worshiping the football and Joe Paterno.

  • @Rao665 Look at this video and tell me if this has anything to do with football or Joepa.

  • @craftbrosify Friday night pep rally...and cheers of "We Are..." it's all football boy.

As for worshipping the media, It ain't so fun now that your own school is implicated in something so nasty isn't it? The Media broke things like Watergate, the Roman Catholic sex abuse, Enron etc. I bet your the same type of person who applauded when the news broke. But now that it's your own institution, you say "stop worshipping the media." The media is just going to keep doing what they do.

  • @craftbrosify

Worshipping the media...get the fuck out of here. I guess the Vatican should get a free pass, since the people expressing outrage are "worshipping the media."

So I suggest you stop worshipping the cock that is Penn State and Penn State Football, and once you get it out your mouth, make sure you TELL someone. I heard people there like to keep that kind of stuff secret. The face of your University is Penn State Football, and PSU football only. Nothing more.

  • I see Pedobear in the background.

  • @Rao665 Are you really saying that everyone who ever supported Penn State football is a child rapist by association? Are you missing half of your brain? Thats just dumb and ignorant.

  • @winrx clearly, they are not, once you find some factual evidence that they are, please get back to me, but just jumping on the hate wagon cause you can just makes you look like a fag, did 42000 students rape those kids, no, regardless, they are out there in the cold, innocent as ever, and holding a vigil in support of these children, they want to show that the college is not run by sandusky, or paterno, or anyone else involved, its run by students who care for those kids

  • @nafin69 "cause you can just makes you look like a fag..." and you look like a child just for saying that. Better stay away from the football building.

  • @Rao665 and you look like a mature adult for saying that they are praying for Sandusky?

  • @nafin69 @nafin69 Did I every say anything like that? I'm looking back on this video comments and I didn't say anything like that. You Penn State POS are getting to be just as senile as your Papa Joe. But since you want it to be true so much, maybe Penn State students should pray for Sandusky. Afterall that "S" in the student stands for Sandusky right? or is it sodomy?

  • @winrx

hey winxr your a fag. We Are...!!!!

  • @winrx Umm get your facts straight darling this is for the victims..Dumb shit

  • @vegasuperstat6 Satanic? Really? Grow up.

  • @vegasuperstar6

Are you serious? Get out of here.

  • @vegasuperstar6 You are so right. I stole everybody's candles and made a giant pentagram in the middle of 10,000 people, and carved 'SLAYER' into my arm....just to show how satanic I am. Everybody should keep in mind, as you see negative comments on threads about Penn State, there are still hundreds of thousands around the country that support the real Penn State.

  • @whatdafukification I realize that it will be a long time until Penn State regains it's seemingly pristine reputation. However, neither the student body, the community, nor the fans perpetrated those horrdous acts nor did they cover them up. We are asking the victims and theyre families for forgiveness for what a few in our family have done. We are trying to regain some of the trust lost in our beliefs. We are strong, we are still proud, and we ARE Penn State!

  • @may42221 However, neither the student body, the community, nor the fans perpetrated those horrdous acts...

Yes you did. It's all about the football.

  • @may42221 - it's a shame that the vigil and the BlueOut aren't getting the attention that the riots got. I, for one, am proud of the way that student body rallied last night.

  • Seems to me like we are damned if we do, damned if we don't. Apparently we are either 'ignoring the victims' or 'just trying to save face'. The rioting was unfortunate, but the vigil last night, the ribbon sales at the stadium, and the blue-out were the students and the community trying to do a good thing.

  • @may42221 And its a good start. A start mind you. There will be such a long way to go to even get close to what your reputation and honor was like two weeks ago, it could take years and years, it all depends on how you continue to push forward and make these wrongs never happen again, forgiveness will come for the ignorant, but we will never forget. PSU will NEVER be the same, things will have to drastically change from what was the norm. This will be the biggest blunder ever for some time..

  • @Whatdafukification

Lets the investigation proceed and find all the facts before jumping to conclusions!

  • @may42221 the only thing students can do if they want to really prove their regret and do a good thing is to transfer out of Penn State and adopt another university.

  • Watch these same knuckleheads switch to riot mode when they lose today.....

  • @winrx

    - We did not riot after the game and you're just another ill-informed asshole tough guy with a youtube account.

    - To those people who supported the fund raising for the victims and counter protested the Westboro Baptist Church in a peace way, thank you very much. The rioters from the other night are disgraceful beings, and we are looking into helping the authorities catch the people who participated in any illegal actions.

  • @winrx

Seems they didn't. Who's the knucklehead?

  • @winrx Did they riot after losing? Nope. Instead they stayed and cheered on the boys who played their hearts out even after all the negative press. The boys playing football on Saturday (Penn State and Nebraska) showed more class than you could ever hope to have. The fact that you've commented on this video a dozen times just goes to know that you have no life and sit around wishing you were able to be a part of the amazing tradition of Penn State.

  • @KristinK624 Remember, they have now been officially renamed Pedo State U LOL

  • @winrx I'm pretty sure the victims involved in this scandal would not be laughing at that. Grow up Dude.

  • @winrx

  • @winrx 2 words?

  • This is a perfect antidote to the souless wastes who disgraced their own institution and forgot about the real victims here. This community has had it's heart ripped out and this is how rational people deal with it.

  • I've tried to walk in the shoes of PSA alum & imagine what this scandal would do to me. I know they gathered for victims but the words of the school song would stick in my throat. At this point, the very last thing I'd want to do is go to a game & cheer for a victory by my school's team. With images of these crimes in one's mind ... I'd be sick to my stomach for a very long time. Cheer, celebrate, chant- really? Maybe someday, but much retribution to be paid ...

  • @mrjet51

  • We can not turn back the clocks and figure out what caused some members of administration to cover up and protect this man of his alleged crimes all we can do now is work to support organizations that prevent and help victims of these matters and put new people into positions with a new set of bylaws to ensure this situation never happens again.

Rebuild and God Bless Penn State and god bless the victims and their families of these malicious crimes.

  • A couple weeks of Damage Control isnt going to be enough to fix what has been done over a couple of decades..... this is a start in the right direction but you have not even crossed the start line.... There will be much more from this and all you can hope for at this time is that these victims get the help they deserve and support them.

The eye of the storm has yet to come.

  • A truly drastic difference and heart touching moment, but please understand..... Dont try to bull shit the public.

Action speaks louder than words, burning 10 thousand candles isnt going to change the mindset of those that think that crimes like this are not worthy of reporting, ALL the way up to your state laws.

You should not be satisfied until things are in place that this can NEVER be repeated again. Focus on that, NOT football.

  • IM PROUD TO BE A PSU ALUM!!!

  • You won't ever see this shown on the news....

  • Nothing would satisfy you. A couple of idiots did this, not the whole school and especially the athletes. Hope your not Catholic but from your video on your home screen I think your remorse and anger for the victims has abated. Thank God for the truly righteous like you!

  • you think the victims give a darn tht you came together and sang a song. THEY WERE VIOLATED time and again not only by Sandusky, but by Paterno, McWueery, the administration, and every single coach that even had the suspiscion of Sandusky's rape and molestation of these children.

A song does nothing but make you feel better. Demand severe consequences for those that are guilty, it is the only decent thing to do.

  • @buckeyebraden

Amen! Put the blame were it belongs and hang the bastards!

  • @buckeyebraden rainn. org/ProudPSUforRAINN Simply put, Penn State is way bigger than the alleged actions of a few people. To honor the victims, our goal is to raise over $500,000. We've reached halfway of our goal so far.

  • @buckeyebraden

You seem to have all the facts before the courts or the committee have even started. You have inside info or just being ignorant?

  • @buckeyebraden people like you literally make me sick. wtf are we supposed to do? we can never win. the vigil was planned before joepa's firing because idk maybe we actually CARE about the fact these kids were abused. we're not all evil, child-abuse supporters like you think. by your logic, jailing the guilty does nothing either. these kids were still violated. all we can do is show our support and pray for the victims of these terrible crimes.

  • @jp81193 but prayer does nothing. Action does. THe university didn't ACT

  • I have urged my school to cancel our game next saturday. Until that entire coaching staff is purged evrytime that team takes the field is a disgrace.

McQueery is still getting paid. I do not care if he did not break a law. Even after reporting not a one of them even cared enough to find out the identity of the boy Sandusky had raped in their locker room.

disgusting. Until your University realizes this is an institutional problem and terminates all employement evergame played is a disgrace.

  • @buckeyebraden Lol an Ohio State fan trying to act like he knows what he's talking about good stuff.

  • Students joined the Second Mile to do great things for underprivileged children, an org they joined to help make their area a better place. Now they have to look upon it in shame due to No Action Of Their Own. These same students, I'm sure, will do good things elsewhere although these deeds will likely go unnoticed since the only good acts that ever show up on TV come in the last 6 seconds of the 11p news. Good things still happen in this world regardless of how ignorant you are to them.

  • Utterly predictable negative responses. ~The rioting was despicable~ ~This vigil is hollow~. What is truly despicable and hollow are the people who look at this and manage to make every single thing negative. You people are just unreal. These students gather at this vigil for the kids, plan to wear blue at the game on Sat in support of sex abuse awareness & raise money for victims of sex abuse thru all the t-shirt sales & other fundraising & yet the only thing you have to say is negative.

  • @o5mooch5o

Hang in there, they'll never be satisfied and for God's sake your just kids!

  • @o5mooch5o so saying "the rioting was descpicable" is somehow negative?

  • @o5mooch5o and T-shirts sales are going to make EVERYTHING better.

  • State College has 1 of the highest population rates of alumni in the entire country. Move there for school & stay there forever. You WORSHIP an 84 YEAR OLD man & allow him to run your $60 mil a year franchise (football). You were angry over the firing of that man even after he allowed a PEDOPHILE to roam free for 10 YEARS upon knowing of the allegations. Your President STILL offered "unconditional support" for the defendants. You call it "Happy Valley." Sorry, but that's a CULT!

  • Forgive my ignorance..we all don't live within the confines of Penn State

However, to the average observer, it is viewed as a somewhat hollow gesture.

One minute students are rioting and essentially spitting in the face of the victims, while chanting for the man that helped enable Sandusky for years. Now they're holding a vigil for the victims?

You may not like it but that's what some are thinking and it's too little, too late. And that has nothing to do with ignorance.

    I've said my peace.

  • @GodBlessTonyDanza it's "piece"....just fyi. more importantly, this vigil was scheduled before the riots. while a SMALL number of students and others choose to behave poorly - the VAST MAJORITY of good people and students stayed home, in their dorms, apts., etc. The plans for the VIGIL were all over facebook before, during and after the rioting. These students here had nothing to do with the rioting. most students stand for the victims.

  • @elainee2211

All apologies..I was unaware the grammar patrol were making their nightly rounds

To everyone outside the realm of Penn State, the amount of students does not matter. Image matters.

Why do you think Paterno on down at Penn State continued to cover up these horrible acts? Image

Odds are people will remember all the fools trashing property, chanting "Fuck the Media" and for Joe Paterno than this. Because that was the first reaction.

You might not like it but those are the breaks

  • @elainee2211

That said, it's good that the student body did this.

But you can't blame others if they want to treat this as half-hearted. Using CAPS LOCK, stomping your feet, acting smug or calling people ignorant won't change that.

Btw it's also very naive to say all the students that attended tonight weren't apart of the stupidity days prior.

  • slowly but surely gaining my respect back, PSU. seeing this is incredible, touched my heart, and my tear ducts.

  • THE ACTS OF 40 PPL IN ADMINISTRATION + THE 1000 FOOLISH RIOTERS DO NOT REFLECT ON THE FEELINGS OF THE 42,000 WHO DID NOT RIOT AND WHO DO NOT CONDONE CHILD RAPE

  • @holaustedesgrande Don't forget the 500+K alumni all over the world. I wish I had been able to be there last night to be part of this. It shows everyone that the the actions of a few do not express the thoughts and feelings of the majority. We are still an honorable and dignified group of students and alumni, and I'm proud to be part of it.
