  • I pray for strength and perseverance of the church of Constantinople and Rome. May they flourish once again and extend God's true message to the world. The two churches have suffered to much due to modernism and indifference that always tries to damage the unity of all true Christians.

  • Forgive me again if you dislike my comments.

What i said has already been said by truly better people than me.

Unfortunately for all of us, this meeting is a false union, identical to the previous false unions, because the ones advocating for it believe that they are wiser and better than our holy fathers. This union lacks humility, love and thirst for the Word of God.

I am for union under Christ and against union under any other reason.

I am not better than anyone, i am also a sinner.

  • I would like to add that the kind of union proclaimed by our beloved sheperd, his holiness, the Patriarche of Constantinople, Bartholomew and his 2 predecessors, has already been made in 1965, officially.

However, as Saint Nectarius has said:

"As long as the main causes of the schism remain the same...union is impossible"

The main causes of the schism have remained yet union was proclaimed. Therefore it is natural to conclude that this Union and Communion is not according to our Faith.

  • I am a Christian Orthodox and forgive me if you do not approve of my comment.

Our only Lord and God, Christ, is the head of His Church.

All people, be it sheperds or not, are prone to mistakes without Him in their heart.

At this point, i must confess i believe what our Holy Fathers believed in the 9 Ecumenical Councils, by which all Christians will be united one day.

Brothers and sisters we can not unite spiritually as long as we do not repent and request help from God and not from people.

  • I am an Orthodox and I salute this move just because it is an attempt between the two Churches in order to get closer, but unfortunately it is impossible, at least the moment we talk for the two Churches to get unified. There are many different things that separates the Orthodox from the Catholic Church. Of course the main thing is that we both believe through our Lord Jesus.

  • May God oneday reunite Rome and Constantinople. Sts. Peter and Andrew, ora pro nobis!

  • Istanbul was Constantinople Now it's Istanbul, not Constantinople Been a long time gone, Constantinople Now it's Turkish Delight on a moonlit night Every gal in Constantinople Lives in Istanbul, not Constantinople So if you've a date in Constantinople She'll be waiting in Istanbul Even old New York was once New Amsterdam Why they changed it I can't say People just liked it better that way
  • Hopefully some day the two churches will be one again. I am Orthodox, and i respect Pope Benedict for making this voyage. Christ is Risen!!!

  • That we all may be one......

  • I pray to God for His Holiness Bartholomew, although I am a Catholic I know is a man of extraordinary wisdom and I appreciate his hard work on the convergence of our churches. Let every malediction spill over into a blessing. Brothers Peter and Andrew, now and ever and forever. Kyrie eleison imas!

  • God bless the Bishops of Rome and Constantinople. Truly brothers as Peter and Andrew were. I am a catholic and I truly admire Bartholomew and his hardwork and dedication on ecumenical dialogue and the environment.

  • @frolickfriendster . may the lord be with you my brother. from where r u?
