How's the gas consumption on this car? Thinking of selling my 09 CTS 3.6 Di for this car but heard I have to fill up gas every 100 miles which would get annoying as this would be my DD.
Im a happy owner of a 2010 EVO X MR with 358HP/467NM and a 2005 STI with 348HP/480NM. STI = better accleration and best possible sound... and thats it... The EVO X MR = better in every other way.
The biggest difference is the way it handles ... EVO X is almost like w RWD with 4WD kicking in from time to time, and STI is like FWD with 4WD kicking in sometimes... STI fells like a small rally car with a lot of emotions, EVO is a big familly car with even more emotions :)

You may want to take a lesson in auto mechanics. Automatic VS Manual is NOT determined by weather you have a shifter!!! An automatic transmission shift point are based on speed and pressure point in the trasmission, thats why cars like mazda that give you tektronic shifting sucks. cause they tell you its like a manual when its an automatic... the cars computer will auto shift for you (even if you dont shift in so called manual mode) if there is enough speed and pressure in the transmission.
A manual has a CLUTCH and uses MANUAL trasmission fluid. In the case of the EVO it is a MANUAL with 2 Clutches so the shifting is smoother (because the next gear is synced for speed) but it is shifted by a computer when you tell it to...not when pressure or speed dictates. So just because a computer is shifting the gears for you..or not if you are in the paddle mode.... Does not somehow change a manual transmission to an automatic.
its not an automatic because automatic transmissions use a torque converter..thats like saying a CVT is automatic..yes it performs the same way as an automatic..but there are no set of gears..but yes i agree with you..the evo gsr with the 5spd is way more fun than the heavier evo mr with the 6spd SST tranny...dual clutch is way more advanced than a simple torque converter, and in a racing environment..it makes sense because you focus more on your driving line..hope this helps

Depending on your interpretation of the word automatic it is but when people are talking about this car they're speaking about the engine being auto or manual not the drivers control over it.
I drove, I don't like it. You don't have as much control as a standard, but I mean 1/4 mile times speak for itself so yeah I mean it's has it's goods and bads.
the evo x's suspension and handling is amazing. i drove my friends evo x gsr a lot and it is a masterpiece for the price. it was five speed manual and shifted extremely smooth as well as this one. nothing beats twin clutch shifting. Great Car!

The horsepower that actually goes to the wheels is not gonna be the rated power rating dude. The AWD systems in these cars usually take a couple percent off the rated.
ok first off i love the Evo X as an Evo owner myself i always wanted to get to drive an Evo x, but what i dont understand is, that the X is suppose to be 291hp stock, why was this one dynoed at 263??? j/w
because crank hp and actual wheel horsepower are two different things...in other words since the car is awd u loose around 20 percent of the crank hp so the car stock usually gets 238hp on the dyno with no moods or tunes.
@JoeMertis1 that stock reading is for crank not wheel horsepower...and also the dyno is a mustang brand dyno w/c reads lower than a dynojet or dynapack etc.
In this case car # 1 is a demo car owned by a Mitsu dealer - there is no way to release a product like this without a careful road test and data log to verify that everything on the dyno is accurate to the road
