  • anybody can take apart reality and make it sound strange but the truth is we are here today? GONE!! tomorrow and this is REALITY!! now what? I suppose you have a good answer for this too? well I"m sure ya do even if its not the truth because nobody really knows what the hell we are doing here or why so just live and forget about the why or who~or else you"ll drive yourself nuts do other things like paint or play a guitar or draw forget the shit of why are we here because we won,t be forever!~

  • @55painterman What if philosophy makes life worth living because it makes me feel alive?

  • question what is an idea anyways?

and if it is nonphysical how can it exist in a physical world?

  • Ideas eminate from consciousness-the creator of the physical world!

  • touche

  • no ideas, your imagination etc come from the akshic records...

  • This is the same as asking how music can exist in a physical world, or information.

But both are patterns of material existence (sound waves ; magnetic patterns)

Ideas are to the brain as music is to air, or information is to the information medium.

  • @robheusd

but music is just air vibrating, why should u actaully hear sounds? That is what Idealism tries to answer

  • @umrahsahab

Just because in our evolutionary development to actually hear sound was favourite for our survival, that's why we hear sounds.

  • @robheus123

Yes that a par tof it, but I dont mean that. Yes sounds help us percieve our environment. Rather im asking why is there a qulia for sound. Why isnt there a program that automatically activates in our brains when we hear our sound. And even of there is a program why should someone "experience it." Sorry im not very technical about my language so it makes me hard to describe:) Take care...

  • @umrahsahab

Your question is too complicated, you ask why do we have experience *at all*?

Same answer perhaps, becuase it was favourite for our survical as species

  • @robheus123

no that not what i mean. I am saying why are their Qulia. Why arent we philosophical zombies?

  • this didn't really connect with part 1

  • also, ideas are a far more recent invention than matter. Plato invented the word for "idea." The presocrates had already been arguing over fundamental ontology, and were by most accounts, monists. Matter was all there was. The greek work psuche, translated most often as "soul" is very misleading. It really means one's physical breath. That was the greek soul - something of the material world.

  • Yes; but what, indeed is a monad? How do the monads fomulate themselves into the objects and entities of the universe? Who or what guides the monads?

  • the quote by protagoras actually translates to "man is the measurer of all things." It may appear unimportant, however, when contrasting realism, idealism, and phenomenology, man as the "measurer" rather than "measure" is an important distinction for understandig the sophists, particularly Gorgias in his thoughts on rhetoric.
