Please don't forget that Xaver is re-reading the Adagio. He can and must play as he feels the music for himself as an artist of the Organ instrument. For me, his performance is remarkable. Congratulations Xaver, I am, for sure, a "Xaver Varnus addicted". From Brazil, JAL

Oh gosh, I love this piece! I was page turning for my brother when he played this piece just last night at the end of a concert in our church, and I don't think anybody even noticed that ten minutes passed while he was playing - simply incredible! This piece is gorgeous.
@TheJackHarkness He is using basically almost all the stops. The ones that are introduced at 8:05 though, are a chorus of en-chamade stops (the horizontally placed trumpets) that create the piercing buzz like effect.
Actually the pedals play their own stops, and it appears that they are coupled to the manuals (meaning that together with their own stops, they play the corresponding notes from the manuals too). One stop that can be heard at the pedals more clearly is a 32' reed, which makes the low frequency buzz.
@Ntalikeris666 I know what coupling means :D I play an organ too. Not that well as him though. I wish our church organ had so many stops and manuals...
Well, a trully good organist will manage to get the job done with a small number of stops and manuals. Though, yea its always nicer to perform in a larger instrument.
@Ntalikeris666 I know... I just like the more interesting stops. Our only has two manuals and some 16 - 18 stops and none of them are "interesting" 'cept maybe the Flute Amabile, I love that one. The rest of them are dull and ordinary.
There arent many organs arround where i leave, so it is kind of difficult to find something interesting, thought once in a while i get to play in a concert hall instrument like the one in the video, which is quite extraordinary.
A powerful piece and beautiful performance. The air pause at 9:00 is necessary for the resonance to die away before the soft concluding registration is introduced.
If there was a price for playing this piece wonderfully, than I'm sure Xaver Varnus deserves it the most. :D I'm just stunned by how beautiful this is played. Thank you so much for posting! ;)

Which stops is he using at 8- something? Those powerful piercing ones. Which are those?

@Ntalikeris666 I've never heard about those until now. Do you now which ones are for the foot pedals at the beginning those "violent" (lol) ones?

It's not from Albinoni. It's from Remo Giazotto. He fraudulously attributed this to Albinoni.
