if you're such an economic genius swanette......why dont you kick start the manufactruing industry in australia..........thats what i would do. if i was PM i would be offering great incentives for people to start all the businesses we used to have...food, clothing, cars, ....everything and anything within reason. thats what a great treasurer would implement.....and when the businesses become successful....not sell them out to foreign countries!

So much for the "new paradigm". I've been listening for the last 2 weeks and have not heard one question actually answered by Gillard or Swan. Jenkins needs to enforce the rules in the spirit they were intended. His job would be much easier if he did. Either that or change the rules of question time so the oppositions can ask stooge questions to themselves like the government does.

@ellicattube you musn't have watched tuesday this week, after the opposition had asked the same question for the 6th time i think (just with a longer preamble), swan distinctly answered the question with a yes, perhaps a first in politics. you don't need to change the rules for the opposition to ask stooge questions, they do just fine with the current rules

@ellicattube I don't suppose you watched question time when the Howard government was around? They did exactly the same thing. The same tactics have been used for decades. I don't like it any better than you do, but don't heap all the blame of this particular government and this particular speaker. Dorothy Dixers and question avoiding have been around longer than you or I.
