I'm quite happy with a moderate pageview count, considering that the truly viral videos usually involve a great degree of "I will probably die of embarrassment now that that's on the web for all to see"... :)
Oh, that, and I'm blessed with quality watchers rather than quantity watchers!
I saw that you should record that song you wrote for jazz camp in the summer of 08, "The Ballad of Ned Flanders." At least, i think thats what you called it.
It makes you about to be rewarded because I'm furiously learning to edit 4-Hour Challenge Video #2 right this minute! But don't hold your breath, still much to learn...
Ned... that was awesome. You have to be the most musically talented person I have ever met. As long as I live I will never forget that night you played Scott's kitchen to the Beatles. And the video work is great too. WoW... Amazing... simply amazing. :D
You were just playing some Beatles toons by clanking pots and pans and smacking glasses of water while opening and closing the stove and kazooing with a straw. It was funny and sounded fantastic.
Awesome! This guy is my teacher and he's on Youtube rockin the world!I think this video should be flagged for freakin awesomeness! I have to admit your singing is better than I thought it would be. P.S. Good job on the editing.
You've uncovered my secret... yes, I'm systematically using your entire family for source material for my projects. Your sisters are next. Moooohahaha. ;)
The best way to do that would be to have some friends come out to McSalty's with video cameras and catch NR&NTB live. Are you (or is anyone else) up to it? :D
Excellent first attempt. You're very talented and you are underemployed! I can't wait to see the next installment. Oh, and as I would expect, your video has great production value.
I'm actually overemployed. The 4-hour time limit is my way of placating my partners and clients, who want to make sure I have time to work on their stuff... :)
I do have a semi-solid idea, and I tend to first record the elements I'm most sure of; that way I leave room to experiment later on. On this project I was a bit unprepared; I went as far as tuning the acoustic guitar but ran out of time to actually record it! That'll learn me.
Im the first one to comment on this in over a year! Still love it NED!!!!!!!!!

Very inspiring, Ned. Lots of us could do something great in four hours if we put ourselves to it, but so few of us actually do.

Hey Ned, It's Laurie's daughter Ali.
THIS IS AWESOME. Next time however, Funky Town should be the obvious choice. :)

See my reply to Tdog. And congrats for being a band geek! That's the very best kind of geek! :D

You need to record something about a hardware store, with, say, an eye-hook windchime, an anvil, a saw and a garden hose.
ShowDoc 3 years ago
The saw is actually hard to play, tho...

Awesome video and music! Thank you for sharing this with us. Wish I had even half your talent!
A great added perk to the already excellent music and video - is that your also cute as hell! :-) (Ok, I'm kinda biased.)

We SHOULD do Pour, but not as a 4 Hour Challenge. I don't want to rush you! :)
rhubarbcub 3 years ago
I never knew you actually had 4 hours free. Don't let Jay know about those 4 hours!
duggercan 3 years ago
Too late. He already gave me a tiny bit of crap about it. We just need to work him into a future episode. :)
