I just ogt through the whole thing and it's worse than I thought. This guy Elgin is a collectivist dupe. His vision is a nightmare. Ayn Rand was on one extreme and he is in another. Without the ability of the individual to be allowed his own space then the 'community' becomes an authoritarian tyrant. E.g. look at what's the EU is doing today, trying to regulate everything in sight. Add some mindblowing technology and you have created hell. Forget the Kumbayah group hug. It's not real.
